Guild Wars 2

<snip1>
@Jagtiger - I will definitely ask about SA servers, though I think the answer will be no -.-, but I will ask nonetheless.
<snip2>
That's unfair with GW1, when no userbase in certain country, and they add one anyway. [FONT=&quot]⌐[/FONT][FONT=&quot]_⌐[/FONT]

Oh, I thought Tank wanted to know if some weapons will have better spiking damage against single foes, while others are specifically designed for better AOE damage, and indirectly making them more useless against single targets.... didnt know he was talking about bodyblocking?

@Sou1, I thought what I said here
Yeah Tank thats one of the reasons I asked, all that we have heard at the moment is that end-dungeon loot (weapons / armor) will be specific to what your class requirement is
already highlighted what we know about dungeon rewards... For the the other part that you said -> monster "loot drop per class", makes sense, which also doesnt make sense anymore when I think about it this way ; -> will everyone get same drops per monster [but specific to their class] (ie scholar armor for ele, soldier armor for warrior), if the monster is a Warrior.... why would he drop ele armor??

Wat ek wil weet is : (ffs ek confuse myself nou)

- Monster drops same loot but specific to your class.
- My previous posts up - participating ppl that helped kill monster - do they get EXACT SAME drops? So I can merch the stuff I dont need.
- Will I only ever get drops required by the character (according to what your trying to say Sou1), so if Im a ele I will just get scholar armor, and if the monster is a warrior I wont get the Soldier Armor?
- If it works the way as previous point, then it means in a Warrior monster infested area, Warriors will be able to 1) equip soldier dropped armor 2) they can merch the unneeded stuff 3) the ele will have NOTHING 4) nothing to sell == poorer than Warrior; and overall not fair en baie kak system.

So sien waaroor ek clarification soek?

passable = will i be able to do a decent amount of damage with said weapon or must i switch to something else

@ChemeleonDevil - WOW nogal confusing... I'm unsure if a Warrior foe will drop only Soldier Class loot or if it will drop other loot as well. Will add this to list of questions.

I seriously doubt monsters will drop the same stuff for every person, I mean even in GW you won't get the same stuff, but then again it is assigned to a person. I think it will be a normal MMO type looting system, except each player will search the corpse of whatever unlucky foe you faced & a number of items or a single item will be allocated to you personally out of a list of possible items that are available as drops from said creature type.

So basically I think every person will get his own set of loot based on Class + random number generator +/- luck factor.

@Tank - The greatsword, not sure, but it has 100 Blades as a skill so I believe the damage output will be sufficient to kill a foe or quite a few, especially with class-combos etc.

So, what I said basically is what you meant....

@ChemeleonDevil - WOW nogal confusing...
Firstly L2S my name :D
Secondly ja dit baie is confusing, maar focus net, dis 4 verskillende punte wat ek bespreek het .

@Sou1, yeah I guess what your saying is the most sensible (random loot allocated from available table for the monster); AS LONG AS NO ONE CAN ninja my allocated loot; and as long as its not so fkn crap random as in GW, and as long as everyone gets a cut [every time a monster wants to drop - give something to everyone] out of the deal of killing the monster it will be fine.

Code:
[B]Failed loot system:[/B]
And also imagine this scenario : I have this awesome 133t armor because of HOM rewards and Im lvl 3 now. Along the way of my adventure I group up with someone completely new (not played GW), and I get the loot (armor) of the monster, he get 1 copper coin for his effort. Now, because I love mah loot alot; I pick it up and go merch it somewhere... The other guy could have made better use of it, as the monster is better looking equipped than the poor starting guy... He has so much bad luck (hint <<---- me) that he only gets a new shiny armor drop from monster when he is lvl 10... (its rediculous example, but just to show that randomness of loot drop will be fail)

What type of upgrade components will be available for weapons?
And, will the unique weapons (ex. dungeons) be mod-able, otherwise it will make them also redundant in usability if it cant be sold because nobody wants it.....

Won't the loot system be similar to GW1 maybe - each monster's loot being allocated to a specific player, with high level bosses maybe dropping a chest that each player can open?

I haven't been following the looting discussions very well - so I'm in a little in the dark here.

Bosses will drop chest so each player can get his loot. But since GW2 seeks cooperative play, the looting system should be allocated to each individual player, but I will try to get more info on the looting, but I think they are still busy with the system so we probably wont get any good reponses.

System requirements were stated to be mid-range pc. So you dont need a awesome rig costing R30K to play the game the pc you have now should suffice. GW2 will offer DX10 support, but it's not needed to play the game.

Bandwidth, unsure will ask. Though GW2 uses a modified version of the GW1 engine. So I don't think it will eat all your cap at once, but it will be higher than GW1 since it is persistent world and updates should be quite large.

As the they won't be the size of Guild Wars updates, they will likely be closer to WoW, Aion, etc. We might get surprised by smaller updates than those two monstrous game have but I will inquire about this as well.

Well the website is coming along nicely, just the domain name is taking forever - OMG ZA.NET YOU SUCK!!!

I have started with all the categories & am going to start adding the content to the site soon. I will hopefully get the site done over the weekend... maybe... I'm still trying to get a forum I can integrate with the site, but for some weird reason my WAMP server doesn't want to work with PHPBB3 and the plugin I got for WordPress can be used to integrate the PHPBB3 forums into my site & use the same login system for both the Blog & the Forums.

I'm adding a Events Page - basically this is so you - the community - can organize events in Guild Wars & Guild Wars 2 and get other members & players to join you and book his/her place alongside whatever event/s you will be running. I think this is a good idea as it allows for easy grouping and organisation of players.

I'm still doing a lot of changes to the CSS of the template I'm using and making custom graphics for all the website elements.

Here is a link to an image of the site thus far... http://www.imagehost.co.za/image-E6AB_4CDD1C29.jpg

Hope you like it and if you have suggestions let me know!
