There are merchants in the various refugee camps where you can go and buy things ... the heirlooms get you alliance bags, but most people are going for the infinite pots that give you the halo or horns ... 250 heirlooms + 10g.

The lost belongings have their own merchants, also with a bunch of things you can buy ... I've been buying obsidian shards with mine.

They'll probably still be usable after today's updates - what happens after this chapter - I have no idea.

Should've probably phrased my question better.

I know about the merchants, was just curious as to what the next update will do with all the belongings and heirlooms that I still have on me.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to taking back Lions Arch :D

Ah ... as to that ... I have no idea. Most of the time things like that end up just taking space in your inventory and I end up destroying them. ANet, once ... only once ... allowed players to merch them, but I doubt they'll do that again.
 
Sigh, seems like the Korean server that is giving most SA Guild Wars 2 players the new updates is having issues. Been struggling since last night to get this damn game client to update correctly to no avail.

I'll rather wait till they change the server.

Apparently you can "change" the server somehow but its based on rapidly opening and closing the client and I've been doing that for a good 3 hours.

Luckily for me I've just heard that the new content is so littered with bugs and glitches that a lot of players didn't get any of the gilded lock boxes so no loot for them.
 
One guy says to use google dns settings ...

Got the update fine last night and another this morning ...

I quite enjoy Great Sword, so I'm thinking that :)

Overall I'm just confused...I never really pay much attention to the likes of top-tier weapons, builds, armour sets etc, so when it comes time to get all of these things, I don't know where to start looking or who to believe.

On another note...I tried to update the GW2 client in vain for an hour last night. It couldn't get past 505KB on the patcher, unfortunately. I don't know what it is about that initial file that's always such a slow mission to download. The rest runs at full line speed!
 
Yes, those are the dns addresses mentioned.

Telkom Internet have been playing musical chairs with some problems, shifting it around, but not quiet solving it. Hopefully you are not a victim of this tom foolery ...

I have not been affected as bad as some ...

Mostly it depends on your play style. I am not a very mobile player, and the above weapon set suits me well most times.

But the range and skills that come with a great sword I miss time to time. Lvl'ed my mesmer with mismatched armour, a great sword, and sword/pistol. Great Sword is very nice for kiting.

My play style and approach to the game is changing mostly due to my playing a warrior - a inherently very mobile class.

So I am tempted to build another mesmer for this build, as I am loath to change my current mesmer ...
 
It has helped on numerous occasions to clear the DNS cache on Windows ...

Don't have the command handy, but it is worth a try ...

Which service provider are you with?

I tend to be very mobile...constantly moving around. I'm standing still less than 10% of the time.

I finally managed to get it working.

Seems what was happening is that when I changed the DNS to google and reconnected my 3G it automatically reset the DNS settings.

So I downloaded DNSJumper and changed the settings whilst the connection was running to Google Public DNS.

Yay, now I can play later tonight when the rest of my server is awake.

Is Aurora Glade quite active, might consider moving servers if it still is:D
 
Glad you came right.

AG is active especially in PvE, we have a very good but small WvW contingent, ideally we need to get 24/7 coverage, but in prime time we can best any server out there, outside of prime time we suffer.
 
Lyndon, for a GS build I'd go with Rampager, Valkyrie, or Beserker armour, with Beserker having the highest damage out put, but least survivabilty.

The others will give you less damage, and better survivability, but still give you decent damage.
 
Then beserker is going to get a 10% damage nerf according to my Son, who is very pissed off about it, as he plays beserker Warrior.

So till I know for sure how bad the nerf is, I wouldn't go for beserker till there was clarity on the matter.

Which is a pain, so for now, I'd go Valkyrie, and pay 20 odd gold for beserker gear later if it is deemed worthwhile.
 
my return to GW2 has been most agreeable thus far.

i'm loving the changes that have been made and the upcoming changes look quite nice.

will see how it affects things but for now i'm enjoying it, even managed to finally get my main to 80
