Nope clean install. The first time it happened was during the tutorial when the text box pops up. Clicking continue wouldn't make it go away, the only way to close the game after this was to end the process in windows.

The second time this happened was when I joined a match and the loading other players pop up got stuck, same thing to close it, end task in windows...

This hasn't happened since though.
 
So I've played about 3 games now and I'm like "Wow...this is really good". Just been struggling with IS/iGame LAG at the moment. And i know its not just me.
 
I just normally play on the EU servers, 180ms+-. I can hardly tell the difference between local and int in HoN at that latency.
 
Yeah Blackhand speaks truth... I get about 300ms on int servers but still... its playble dont really notice lag... just every now and again you get a bit of lag.
 
I doubt that Dota2 will beat HoN at start, but it can maybe in 3 years or so.

I was so disappointed to see that Dota 2 will be steam based...

I like steam its well supported and got lots of other games through there so i dont mind the fact that dota 2 is on steam, wont need to re add all my friends.
any back on topic HON.
I play majority int cause of MMR its fun to play with 4 friends and you land up against another clan really enjoy it.

this is something that really hacks me off. for some reason its all the really loud/afrikaans guy? well they sounded afrikaans anyway.

they think that they better than everyone else?? The other fav word is pxxs... I mean really, it gives away the capacity and intelligence (or lack of) of your brain if thats all you can utter...

Best advice??? Mute them, but dont tell them that you have muted them. Otherwise they will just spam you with offensive text... It works the best. Just dont react, and mute them. They will get bored and start flaming someone else??

Just remember you dealing with kids here, and not all of them know what self control is....

u mean VALVE dont u? and wat dont u like about the engine anyway? it plays well, and engine's go nothing to do with gfx style so ey?

I have nothing against the steam platform, except that it there is currently no native Linux client available. And because of this there will be no Dota2 Linux client as well. This will lead me to many hours of tweaking and optimization and I will have to ask myself if my Ancient is really worth it or not.
By the way, Hon has the ability to reconnect to your game if you dropped out - and your hero automatically runs back to the fountain when you dc, how awesome is that.
 
So I've played a couple of games now. The new patch opened up so different heroes for me to play. LOVING IT! The international servers are awesome and relatively latency free. A LOT less lag than I got playing iGame Servers.

Also love it, we should make a friend group and play as a group, the guys from the forum
 
I downloaded LoL and HoN recently and game them both a shot. Being a casual DoTA player, I found HoN too much like the DoTA War3 map and LoL to be a much much more refreshing take on it. I like the feel, control and art-style of LoL over HoN anyday. Just my 2c - use it dont use it.

Yeah hon is more like dota that is for sure also the cominity is going the same way as the dota its one of those games where you had to be infolved from the start.

LoL is way more casual and focus more on hero killing.
 
One of the reasons I stopped playing on the War3 server is because of all the afrikaans kids who relish in being the foulest mouthed racist pieces of shit for no good reason at all.

I am enjoying HoN, most people on the european servers aren't "rude" (there are always exceptions) and what I am really hoping for is that the russians have their own localised version. I remember quite a few russian invasions on WoW and in their broken english they were just like our own little boeritjies here.
 
Lol, amazing how much hate the afrikaansnerds get. Really has been my experience as well, as stated above. I also really like LoL but my university proxy firewalls it! :-/
 
I was born an Afrikaner, and I try to act english as much as I can. They're not only obnoxious and purposely stupid online, but in real life as well.
