MW3? Don't buy this crap.....

Buy MW3? ME? OH HELL NO! Na m8 I was referring to the "fight" we had where the playa bowed out :)

LOL i was also referring to the fight. The R499 on PC was part of the money back joke because lots of people who bought the game would also like their money back and the fight was about the game as well. hahaha.

Is there a 64bit-linux version that will run BF3? (I don't want to buy windows7)

You will have to see if Wine supports Battlefield 3 and Origin (www.winehq.com).

That should help for the install (BUT ONLY IF IT WORKS! You might have to wait a while before it is supported, if ever.), but actually playing it, you might have an issue. There is however a crack by Razor1911 for people who bought BF3 and want to play it but don't want to run Origin.

You can find out more here - http://thedefaced.net/showthread.php?tid=1365

I was considering this origin bypass when origin decided that it didn't want to run anymore - The fix for that btw is set origin's CPU Affinity to only 1 CPU core - for some reason it works - I didn't use it since I got it fixed and sooner or later my account would probably get banned by EA because of it.

EDIT:

It is in the Gold list on WineHQ, BUT and it's a big BUT - the supported version number is Beta 8.2.2.2532 - I know when I installed Origin it updated to 8.3.3.35 for me to play BF3 - find out more here

I use that Razor bypass. Love it. Just keep a copy of the original bf3.exe. Origin kept crashing and taking my game down with it.
Now the game is ultra stable.

Agree with Uberutang, I also use the Razor bypass. Much better now, Origin het my die horries gegee.

I am a COD fanboy. Wait. Was. I was one.
Haven't per-ordered/ordered MW3, and probably won't get it, especially after tonnes of feedback from my fellow COD fanboys.
Sound wrong. Fan gentlemen? Dunno.

This turned out as I thought it would, and I'll rather spend R500 on a console game, something like Uncharted 3, or Batman AC.
Lot's more to rant about, but I didn't buy it, so see this as my feeble 2c.

O ja, Joker, jy't verloor net so btw.

Set the Origin CPU priority to only one of your CPU cores, apparently origin doesn't support multiple cores or multithreading to every now and then it bugs out and then crashes completely the whole time. It might work fine for a while, if you install/re-install/uninstall software on your system it will most likely bug out.

Setting Affinity to 1 CPU core fixes this problem.

lol are u serious?! why wouldnt a modern game support multi-cores?

Um dude, Origin is not the game. Just btw :)

But on a side-note, you need to set it back to use all processors when it starts successfully, otherwise it launches the game using only one core.

Personally i wont be getting MW3, simply because i i refuse to support a developer that wont support their customers. 500 rand for DLC? no thanks.
