maybe I'll attempt this, again. FYI, Krieg is a powerhouse, but only for experienced players.

For beginners, Axton and Gaige are the best.

I think it best to change my contention to "showing interest".

Though I haven't finished this game and would love to partake in its shenanigans, my gaming time is limited to a few hours at best a week.

A few hours is good enough! Just comment and be active and finish the game eventually and you are good to go.

I'm sure there's a bunch of us in this same boat, myself included. That's why I think BL is a great choice, we can just check our friends list when we can play, and see who's playing, and jump in a game with them. Easy!

I don't really like playing multiplayer but I'll consider giving Borderlands 2 a chance. It's interesting that they went with the free for all system though. Does everyone usually trade when their inventories are full? Or is it just a case of pick up and sell and get on with the game?

Cool. And the co-op, is it a case of starting a multiplayer game and then anyone can join? Or do you set it so that only friends can join for instance? And anyone can pop in no matter where they are in their own stories?

It might be the best way, but it's not the only way

I know in PS you can challenge each other to a quick "one life dual" for loot, not sure if this is in BL2 as I have barely played BL2 co-op. The dual is definitely in BL2 just not sure about the dual for loot.

no it's a buddy system. people join on your game or vice versa. it's not an open server you play on that any rando's can jump on

I just noticed now that almost everyone is playing on PC. I have never done MP with BL2, is it easy to just drop in and drop out of a friends game?

It's drop in drop out yeah, but you can set it to friends only or invite only or make it public so any random person can join. You have to be close together in story mode (character levels need to be close as well) for best results. In practice a lvl 72 can join a lvl 2 but it won't be fun as the high level will one shot everything, including bosses, and ruin the game.

Is it like BL1 where not every class can use every weapon? I hope I'm not confusing games.
