I was level 23 fighting the Warden and I got killed on his second breath. Made a stupid mistake.

The mobs are higher level than you and that makes them hit harder and you miss hits more often. I was lvl32/33 and the mobs were lvl38 - 40.

It won't matter if you go there at a higher level, the mobs will be adjusted to a higher level, up to level 50 on normal difficulty, I believe.

There are also these mine things, which is what killed me. I was dodging them/running away from them until they stop. Then at one point I was like fuck it, went in and fought mobs with a mine right there. It made me dead.

With a heroic character I would do the first few levels, but I would stay out of the skeleton key area, since the only ways out are clearing the whole thing, or dying.
 
So question to the elitists out there.
I am playing a mostly Arcanist char. It would seem to me that this game doesn't have Staves or wands(in this game wands and scepters are maces), etc. Only off hand items.
So what would you use with a Arcanist? Just a dagger/sword?

It's one run per session. If you die you cannot craft another key to go back and reclaim your body or carry on. You will need to log out and back in to reset the dungeon. The other rogue-like dungeon is the Bastion of Chaos which is even worse because it forms part of the Ch'thonic Void; areas where you are cut off from using rift gates right from the start.

Ah oky, thanks. I didn't know that.

I'm going to ahead and guess this new dungeon will be placed at the end of the Aetherial stretch of road in Deadman's Gulch. If not, I'm still waiting to see what that gate there will be for.

I killed the warden now at level 23 so don't worry. And I die often at the higher difficulty.

All Grim Dawn's classes are super versatile and you can usually mold them to whichever playstyle you prefer. If you're going for a pure arcanist, you might find that he/she can become really powerful by using ranged magic attacks combined with a very high spirit level; therefore you won't really need to equip melee weapons, unless they compliment your magic abilities. There are many other items you can equip that will boost your arcanist skills considerably: books, effigies, skulls, scepters, dolls, mutant claws/spikes.

If you feel you become too powerful, just wait until you get to the last difficulty level. Ouch.
 
Killed the warden last night. Think I was at level 21 or 22. He killed me a few times first but I managed in the end.

Trying a bleeding/cold damage Nightblade build and its working well so far. I want to get my mastery to 50 ASAP so I can get more bleeding skills.

Also killed the Warden last night :D was a moerse long battle with alot of deaths. Luckily it's not like Diablo and you have to start over. [MENTION=1420]Juice[/MENTION], yeah I'm currently using those missles as primary. Equiped a melee that grants more Spirit and have a off hand item.
 
I'm up to level 39 now. My shaman feels really powerful, even playing on Veteran. I did a Crucible run when I was level 38 and managed to get to wave 42, no idea if that is good or not.

I just reached Homestead in the Campaign, and also cleared the Aether area to the East/North East of Homestead.

Yep, some builds can even revolve around items. :)



Even though this isn't a bleeding skill, Execution is a must on the Nightblade if you are putting points in it to get to level 50.

I see it has cold damage so it fits my build as well. :D

Where in the skill tree is that skill? Looking at the description it looks like one of the skills at the top that have a chance to activate off duel wield attacks? If so, it's definitely something I plan to invest in. That top row (and bladebarrier) is my bread and butter for this build. Also using that dash attack, thinks it's Shadowstrike, and one of the first attack skills, amrasta blade something, as a primary.

Managed to get to wave 100 in the Crucible, but couldn't kill the boss, he was just so damn powerful!

I also started with Act4 in the Campaign (or atleast I think it is Act4).
 
Knowing how the masses enjoy a good before and after picture, we've been prompted to paste the following excerpt from this morning's Homestead Trumpeter newspaper:
