Neverwinter : Beta Impressions from Total Biscuit

Yeah, classic launch day blues, I am SO glad I bought the headstart pre-order, at least I had 3 days of joy.
 
I must say they sorted out the major problems remarkably quickly. Within a few hours of launch. What I really like is how they kept communicating and updating the community on twitter and the forum. Much better than recent MMO and other releases.

Five of us were playing from about 10/11 until 3am. Awesome fun. :D

:P That is a bug. Your position in the queue should in fact be in the 2000s or something at the moment. They are aware of the queue position jumping to some absurd number and are addressing it with a patch later today. Just wait 20mins or so and you should get in. :)

Game is awesome.

Lol, Yea i got in last night and enjoyed it until i couldn't take the lag anymore. Otherwise i've enjoyed it so far.
 
What is latency like for you guys and on which servers do you play? Are there any European servers or are all of them based in the US? I get a pretty consistent 300ms at the moment. To European servers I normally get about 180ms.

I don't know about now, but last night i was getting 1500ms and i'm not really sure if there are EU servers. Could only be US for now i think but i could be wrong.
 
Yeah, was getting 1.5k+ ping last night. Now, with the queue system I am getting the usual 300-500 so its a lot better. That queue is LONG though, about an hour wait today.

I am SO loving this game though, it is pretty good on my jaded scale.
 
Which shard did you guys roll on? I want to play but obviously would prefer with fellow saffas or at least ppl I know.
 
I am thinking of giving it a week before starting one, simply because the queue time drives me nuts. I managed to play last night, for an hour between 11 and 12pm
 
Just run it - it wasnt huge updates - about 500mb for this, GW2 was big but I have to be honest Im not in a rush to play it.
 
In the initial Closed BETA, I felt that the overall graphics and environments were unpolished, lacklustre and somewhat distorted (I think the beautiful textures of Guilds Wars 2 and TERA: Rising have ruined me in that regard). However, Perfect World seems to have bumped the graphics and fixed most connectivity problems, and the gameplay seems faster/smoother than before.

I must agree with Almazar when he says, "The game is a ton of fun, and I feel myself looking forward to my play time. The fact that this is free-to-play is a bonus ... the game is fun, and you’ll yourself sitting down for a quick play session and suddenly wondering where the last 4 hours have gone."

I think most members of my clan are still a bit skeptical so, If anyone else rolled on Mindflayer, I'd appreciate an add as it's a bietjie lonesome at the mo! (╥﹏╥) My nick is: Fergus Lightbringer@scaryjane

Also, if anyone in the Durban Metro area needs the client, I could burn it onto a DVD for you or you could swing by and copy it as it is only 3.06 GB.

There are about 5 of us playing on Mindflayer. We mostly play PvE in Guild Wars etc. so I imagine NWO will be the same. We're almost level 15 so will create a guild then. Will add you in a bit. :)

I am also on Mindflayer in a RP guild. Look me up on @boerewors (you just need a handle to add to friends list). My cleric is currently level 25, I am taking it slow ;-)
