No Man's Sky

The more I see of No Man's Sky the less I like it. It's probably the opposite affect to what other people are experiencing.

The difference is I've known what to expect for a long time now and I'm really excited for it. Though I know full well that a lot of people will be disappointed.

The endless flyng around, shooting crystals and rocks to mine minerals, discovering and naming wildlife and shooting the odd sentinal to piss off a planet? I dunno, I'd like to try it for its vast scope, but will probably only last me 8 or so hours before I'm bored.

If there's an easy enough system to meet up with friends, I think it'll last me quite a while, but otherwise I'm beginning to think the 8-10 hours might be accurate. On the other hand, I have sunk more than 50 hours in Terreria..

Yeah, I can't see that happening with the information they've given out or spoken about. Everything Sean Murray has stated implies that you'll never bump into another player.

I'm still right down the middle when it comes to No Man Sky. The scale and discovery appeals to me, but I am cautious of it not having enough content to keep me going for long hours. Then again, I've been hooked on games with far less content. Plus I like the whole crafting aspect, and the fact that I can fly anywhere and discover something new that no one has ever seen. But then I wonder how much of a variety all the different planets will be until it all feels the same. But then I think that you will have to go pretty far to actually start seeing copies of previous assets.....URGH!!! I just don't know!!!!

Ja, that's why I'm a little skeptical. I'll definitely keep an eye on it, and if it looks like friend-play is difficult, I'll grab it on sale sometime.

I'm sure you'll find something to do :p "whistling:

An awesome person gave me No Man's Sky for my birthday yesterday. Now I'm getting all hyped up. Who has pre-ordered so far and who will be buying it at launch?

What a complete crock of shit that is. A television media broadcaster suing an indie game company over use of of the word Sky? WTF? Are the British public generally that stupid that they'd get confused by a computer game being called No Man's Sky, and start calling up the Sky TV customer service hotline asking for patch files?

I'm all for protecting your brand, but seriously Sky? Are you planning to release a space related computer game any time in the near future?
