Offical Far Cry 3 Thread

I do find it a little easy. Very relaxing.

But i want it to be more difficult :(

Enemies are very predictable,i took an outpost in little more then a minute by headshotting all the pirates one by one with the silenced semi-auto Rifle.

yeah that does bug me. But ag its fine. I am enjoying it. A lot more than most modern fps games.

Yeah, it's a bit on the easy side, but don't worry. It gets a bit tougher the further you progress into the story.

That moment when you have everything in place for the perfect ambush of an outpost, then you hear a growl just beside you and a tiger's about to pounce on you:eek:, you then run for your life, the tiger takes a detour into the outpost and starts ravaging every guard leaving the highly placed lone sniper (who I then take out:D)

Hehe, I usually just check if there's a caged animal and then I let nature do all the work for me. :p

Oh, and leopards seem to be incredibly rare. I've only ever come across one, and it proceeded to kill me so I couldn't take its pelt.

Anyway, I'm not going to write a long post about how awesome this game is again, but after this weekend I'll just say this; if you're only going to buy one game this festive season, let it be this. It is absolutely one of the best games I've played in ages.

Funny enough, there was already a caged tiger that I planned on releasing until the wild one attacked and proceeded to the outpost. You can never be sure of what could happen:p:D

Yeah 100%. Just had a 2 hour session now. I am going to be so sad when I do finish it.
My kit usually follows:
Suppressed sniper rifle.
Assault weapon
Bow.

Still need to kill a shark thinking of using grenades :p

My kit so far is:
Bow
Grenade launcher
50.cal sniper rifle
Flame thrower.

I only need 2 rare pelts and then everything will be upgraded to the max.

So I assume you've done the Path of the Hunter quest then? Is it part of the main story or a side-quest? I want to do it so I can fully upgrade the rest of my gear.

So I spent a large amount of time with this game over the weekend and while I'm not done yet I can safely say that this is my game of the year. I haven't had this much fun with any game this year.

The game is a sight to behold on PC, the story is fantastically intriguing and the freedom of gameplay is supremely satisfying. Anyone who had doubts because of Far Cry 2, fear not, this is one of the best open world first person shooters ever.

One thing I really like about it is the direct threat the wildlife presents.

One point, I'm hunting a deer only to turn around, out of ammo, to find a tiger running towards me. Likewise, I almost shat myself when a komodo dragon came out of the grass.
Best part was searching for a lost letter and keeping an eye on the cassowary that had me in it's sights. I turned around and found another one right next to me, staring into my eyes. I was immediately reminded of this:

Clever girl :p

Dude, the wildlife has you constantly on edge:eek:, one moment you're a predator, the next, you're fodder for a group of Komodos, a leopard, a tiger, a bear, or even that ostrich type creature:D.

Yeah I sank a couple of hours on this weekend too. It has a weird undertone of Far Cry 2 in it, but everything is just so much better. I love how "real" the character feels too, the way he runs, falls, slides and so on. Its really engaging.

And agreed with the above posts, the wildlife adds a whole new level of strategy for navigating the map. Really really awesome.

As a side note... murky waters freak me the hell out. Damn crocodiles...

Yeah, I ran away from a tiger by jumping into a river. And just I breathed a sigh of relief, I heard a crocodile hissing somewhere in the area. This was followed a swift 'Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit' moment.
Must say the ocean freaks me out way more. Particularly at night. Sometimes a loot chest is inside a crate which is more than halfway in the sea. That is freaky as hell.

Anyone tried the co-op yet?

I once threw a stone by the banks of those murky waters, guard got curious and promptly got eaten by a croc:D

Not yet, some of us should get together and see what's what in co-op
