Rant..Nvidia are tards...lol

So, for the price differential between the 780ti's, and what I paid for my 780s, I could buy 6/7ths of another 780 :p

True but realistically speaking, 780ti cards are a lot faster than normal 780's.
Also you never want to deal with Tri Sli...take my word for it lol

Well now it's a better option over the Titan for multi-screen guys. Same VRAM with more horsepower at a ridiculous price.

Neah the 6GB ram won't make much difference, the memory bus on the cards aren't good enough for the amount of ram. I promise you, you might even drop 1 or 2 frames and realistically speaking guys that run 3x27" or whatever will need more than 1 card to run that res smoothly, so to spend $2600 would be retarded if you can spend $1900 for the exact same performance.

Just to put that price in context: R6k would buy me 1,000 bullets for my .30-06. That's enough bullets to last me a year and a half of regular shooting :p

I heard(from Tom's I admit :D) that the Titan Black has double the floating point precision GPU performance, which is good for developers apparently . Not that I condone consumer exploitation (in fact I'm not the biggest nVidia fan).

Thank goodness someone else noticed this as well. Nvidia sucks donkey balls when it comes to adding larger amounts of RAM to their GPU products. AMD are absolute light years ahead in terms of understanding the actual technology behind it. I never could figure out why Nvidia adds more RAM to their GPU's without extending the bus-width used to carry the actual data.

It's like building a monster truck, but expecting it to drive on a rope.

No thanks. I believe my next GPU will be AMD based. Nvidia have lost my interest completely.

I'm pretty sure they purposefully bottleneck their RAM on some GPUs, forcing you to purchase the more expensive, "high-end" models.

Strange... this sounds sorta like Telkom lmao!

Remember Oliver Twist? **Please can I have more** "whistling:

Sorta sounds like every big company! I wish companies did well based on consumer satisfaction, not profits.

No offense to you but I am in retail for the past 15 years of my life and companies will never exist without making profits otherwise they'd all fold and we as consumers will have *nothing* to buy and be forced to think for ourselves to come up with a plan...

So basically we are paying for someone else's ideas, which in all fairness does makes sense cos somehow that person made our life easier without we lazy asses having to think for ourselves.

Point is everyone business wise has to be innovative to stay ahead of the times to make money. In Nvidia's case they got what seems to be most of the brains to outsmart AMD (same can be said for Intel and AMD) but Amd's clever enough to see oppurtunity and fill the market gap at some point where Nvidia doesn't...

Same as Ferrari (Nvidia) sells 10 units and make massive profits cos of their technology and Toyota (AMD) sell 1000 units and also makes profits cos of mass production helping with continuation of the said mass produced items and good after service.

It's all a matter of what you can afford really

I for one would love the bragging rights of owning a Titan Black, maybe even two (cos that's all it will ever come down to) just as any of you out there but because we cant afford it we go with the mass produced an item that we know works well so why bother with top of the range...?

So basically every big company would fail and society returns to the barter system? Without the profit motive there would be no motive since very few people work 7 days a week to start a company after investing money just to make people happy and then end up in debt themselves.

Granted customer satisfaction often leads profit but measuring a business on customer satisfaction is like comparing supercars based on the leather seating, alloy wheels or sound system. Yes I will buy the new Mclaren because it has leather seats not because it has a great engine, looks good and drives amazing.

But many of these companies are already making huge profits, and they're basically squeezing as much money as they can out of consumers. I still think companies should be able to make profits, but at the same time they shouldn't screw the consumers around as much.

I also wish consumers didn't get the short end of the stick every time but I also know with profit comes investment into new products, shareholders who invested get their returns and drives the industry forward. This in turn drives future customer satisfaction with choice and new products, also this rip-off card is just a niche card.

Out of both of your comments I just hear *envy* and jealousy cos like I said any one of us would absolutely LOVE to have this card but now you both resorting to politics basically crying like babies *why are they charging so much*

Leave them be! AMD and Nvidia will always counter each other with a new product and forcibly one will drive the other's prices down at some point... Just AMD's 280X pricepoint not viable now cos of crypto mining...

Over the last 3 posts I justified the profit motive of nvidea but from one word you think I'm whining about why they are charging so much. Have you tried learning how to read English?

Hey buddy, dont wana start a fight and didn't mean to offend, If I did my, humblest apologies but that is just what came across to me in your replies somehow.

The learning English part is just killing what I love to call an open debate so lets not be bad sports... If anything, your reply above just opens a can of sour worms on your part... but nonetheless its an awesome 30+degree night in Cape Town and I hope you enjoy yours too!
