RIFT : Planes of Telara

*gah* ... no more #1034 error, but the last 200MB is now updating at an avg of 3kBps. Who have I offended to deserve this? :(

Just search for Prophecy guild in the social panel, then just give any member a whisper and they will ask an officer to invite :)

Strange...I never got any errors when I did my update. My update also went at full speed (40kbps Lol :D )

I did see a thread on the official Rift forums about someone who had the same problem (downloading at 3kbps). Didn't read it though unfortunately

They did. I got my boxed copy from them - it's the 1.24GB patch that's snailing along at 7KBps. :(

Their updater servers are something aweful. Not just for us, but international complains too.

I bought it from the riftgame.com site, downlaoded the patcher which was like 10mb, then it just dled the game via the patcher. Causes some trouble, some times wouldn't resume the dl if it was stopped, but there's a fix for it.

ooh that was Voicy that replied :P Whoops. Okay.. so my assumption was correct then. :) I should really look who replies to my messages.

How large was the client via riftgame.com and how much did you pay? *heads over there now*

Edit: and going to riftgame.co.za isnt gonna help anyone... :P

Yeah I paid 50$, think that's like R350. The client was errrr 8 or 9gb. Since then there were probably about 300mb worth of patches.

By the way, this is very important: There are a lot of phising scams with this game. You will receive e-mails or tells ingame that you qualify for a gift for instance, and it will lead you to a site that sounds rather legit (something like rift-game.com, instead of the actual riftgame.com site) and it will be an exact replica of the actual site. Type in your details to log in there, and goodbye account.

You can duel other players, or flag yourself for PvP.

Strange that you aren't getting decent download speeds because I always get full speed.
