Vintar, are you confident that Lost Alpha will perform well on current- and next generation hardware? Or will gamers have to downgrade their systems?

I played the first Stalker Beta in London at the excell exhibition centre a few years before it was launched and it looked incredible. By the time it was launched it was average. A real pity they couldnt get it out there earlier. Would have been nice of Stalker 2 would live up to the hype.

I played the beta at rage a few years before it was launched. Look so good.
 
Well you guys will like lost alpha then. It brings back most of the old stalker elements with a familiar but new storyline and new levels.
 
Some amazing concept art there, I like the new route their taking with stalkers themselves. Adding some epic works. But do we know for sure that this is actual concept art from the game? not really, it's still amazing.
 
Since it was cancelled, you think there will be another publisher/developer willing to pick it up - I mean it's a CULT favorite!

Cult favorite or not there are some technical difficulties to this. For one, this whole GSC thing isn't making sense, with the owner being one of the top 100 richest people in the Ukraine. And also we still have no official word from GSC stating clearly that it IS shutting down.

Otherwise I can't really see no reason for another company to not pick it up. 4A Games would be my first choice seeing as they are also in Ukraine, but the chances of them doing that is slim. Otherwise the IP is registered outside of Ukraine so maybe some other company can take it, thought the question here is would they be able to get the same atmosphere as GSC were able to get?
 
can you imagine if BIOWARE got hold of the storyline and created (as they are the best at it) the biggest primary/side/ambiet content ever for the game. Then EA bought the rights and used DICE's Frostbite 2 engine to power the game. .. . I'd seriously be in heaven.

The main problem with Bioware is this:

BIOWARE = EA

Have you noticed how Bioware are now working on a RTS title? Well it's command and conquer but I mean EA is milking the company for everything it's worth. I just can't see a bright future ahead for them. And I don't think Bioware is the right company for S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
It needs to stick to the European developers as the Russian accents and language helps with the amazing atmosphere. Then there's the graphics/game engine which Xray is well known for.

At this point in stage I'm still hoping this is all a very very bad PR stunt.

Lol, its no PR stunt man, deal with it :)

Sergei is willing to complete another stalker game but he wants someone else to fund it.

PS: If you have a few million lying around, I`m happy to make the game for you ;)

Come mid January, I hope I'll be able to look back at this tweet and consider it my Christmas present. Thanks for alerting us to the updates, vintar.
 
I know i keep hijacking this thread with lost alpha news, but here goes again :)
just for those of you who have heard of lost alpha and dont follow other stalker related forums, i thought i would update the situation here.
We hope to have it complete in six months maximum. The problem is that due to the fact that we have modified the binaries "a bit" , gsc have said that it is no longer a mod but a new game and would not be allowed to be released as a mod due to some EULA rules. They even suggested that we sell it on steam for some nominal price so that could be am option. I will update here when we know more.
