Signature sizes reminder

How about 130px maximum for signature with the ONLY exception to the rule being the Exophase combo gamercard thing because it doesn't look horrible?

RustPuppet your feedback on this would be good to since you'll be helping me moderate people who push the limits past 130px with anything other than the approved exception.

James made a typo!

/trollolololol :D

What? The other kids were doing it, I wanted to be popular too :(

Wait.. what?

Something's missing here...

Does not compute!

Oh... wrong thread... DAMNIT!

Ignore!

Fine by me, considering that's what I use. In fairness though, the Raptr and Playfire sigs are pretty tidy as well.
Of course that bring us back to square one.

I want a cookie James, you stole my idea :D:p

cant you perhaps make the limit for gamercards to max 155 px height and all other non related sigs to 130 px height ?

+1. That size is definitely reasonable.

IMHO it's really not a big ask to have a small signature that conforms to board rules. The forum is ultimately about the quality of the posts, not how pimped out the users' sigs are; rather give people an idea of who you are through what you say, not your l337 Photochop skills.

With that being said I don't think it's an issue members are going to be publicly flogged for, and no doubt we'll have to guide new members if they're unaware of the rules. (Perhaps put the specs in the board rules?).

Yup, will update the rules once we've got a decision most people seem to be happy to stick with.

130 seems like a good size, not to big not too small, just right. Just like some other things I can think of. Anyway... :)

Aggreed with RustPuppet. Ample space to resize a sig to, or create one. If it's the full size, centered, it kind of blends in as well. Not that everyone will be exactly on the max size (px) limit, but it does make reading easier - a lot easier.

Those sigs we had on our clan forums were to big when I started creating them back in 2009, but the guys liked them that size, so I guess when we jumped from Soulslayers/iGame to myGaming, we just dragged our posterswith. :D

Done.

lol...

I've noticed that 600 wide signatures break the layout in the forum mail boxes...

Anyone else getting this problem?

I think these new 600x130px signatures look rather nice on the forum side though.

Thoughts?

I actually think the wider sigs look better overall when they're not all crouched in a corner at the bottom of the posts.

I might get around to doing a new sig for myself as well - once I've figured out what the limitations of the script generating my current one is, anyways.

Shadowfox, yours seems to be 450px × 135px.

I'm leaning heavily toward the 130px limit with exceptions for certain auto sigs that don't look terrible; Exophase being one and yours possibly being another.

The ones above being displayed by To0kenZa, faffa and DenSweep make a compelling argument for the 130px height. They give enough room for creativity and look cool without dominating the page.

Agreed James. Enough playground to still do what you want to do, and if centred*, they kind of fit nicely.

You should just use the center code to make it look tidy.
