I think Mappy needs an infraction or something Tinman...
You relies all the CoDs have used the quake 3 engine? now up to CoD6 its been so heavily modified now all thats left is just some similar code, Bethesda can easily bring it up to todays standards, its always easier to improve on a new engine then start from scratchLike Fallout 3? That engine was top of the line 3 years ago, now its a model T. New engine or bust.
have to agree, thank Thank god for mods thoIts called the Gamebryo engine. And yeah they going to use it again.
My Problem with games using the gamebryo engine is, that they are never tweaked to such an extent that they feel unique. And also, take Oblivion for example. Yes I know you have hundreds of square KM rendered and the models are (sortof) highly detailed, bt take the last battle for example when the Gigantic gate opens. You get to save cyrodiil, with like 8 soldiers fighting with you. WOOT EPIC BATTLE EPPIC............ NOT. Same with Fallout3, last battle alongside the gigantic robot with 4-5 soldiers to accompany you.
These games (eventhough countless mods provide some help) really need to be "populated" more. More NPC's, more VARIED Locations, More things to do, no matter what the setting.
+10This worries me:
"The game will bring “ fast-paced, easy-to-grasp action†to the series"
Looks like a lot previously complex games are getting this treatment. I do not necessarily mind these 'fast-paced' RPG's and such, actually I like many of them, it's just there are SO many of them now. I also love and miss the more complex in-depth systems some games have / had.
I like McDonald's, but I do not want it ALL the time!
hey you got to admit the AI schedules where quite coolstupid ai?
in some cases non-existant... artificial idiocy would better describe it...
explains why its coming out on the iPhoneAlso think it's an April's fool.
Nothing on Bethesda's site about Alinor. Searching Google for Elder Scrolls V gets a bunch of old news (2006 - 2008). And Armor Games makes flash games.
Well I am glad this is fake.
Had fun with Oblivion, but Morrowind was certainly better in my books.s.
I fully agree. I still have Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed, with some mods. IT was a less "guided" RPG than the likes of Oblivion and Fallout. I remember the one quest where I had to look for the dragon's tooth, when the sun shines at certain time to clear the way, the go up the hill and wait another certain time for a door to open. Just looking for that place (part of the Nerevarine quests) took me HOURS. If it were Oblivion they would have marked it on your map, probably made it a quick travel location, given you a compass, garmin and maybe even a luxury 4x4 with a driver that drove you there while you were sipping on some laté reading the morning news.
I loved Morrowind to bits, You had to figure so much of the stuff out yourself, you found clues just by carefully scanning conversations etc.
I have that quest memorised to a T. Nowadays I always find it without any difficulty. There is another quest though that is a pain to me. I think it's part of the main quest line where you have to kill the leaders of House Dagoth. Most of them are inside the inclosure in the middle, but there is one that's ouside to the southwest. There is no map marker and it's in the middle of nowhere. Every time I do it again I have to search for it.
Another thing I like about both Morrowind and Oblivion is the intro music.
indeed i missed flying, I used to fly everywhereI thought the world in morrowind was much more diverse than Oblivion - and you could fly in morrowind! (That pyramid city on the water - where as Oblivion every town was pretty much same ) I loved both ... just think Oblivion could have been so much better.
