Hmmm, any tips from the more experienced balies ( :p ) on how to properly place a company?

I'll try give a brief outline of starting a company but theres quite a lot into it and all specific to the location, industry where you start.

You first need to decide whether you want to start a RM (Raw Material) company or a FG (Finished Goods) company. A finished goods company will supply weapons, food, gifts and moving tickets and you will have to purchase RM's to create these goods.

The type of industry you go into might be profitable all year round such as a food and gifts company whilst it may also be subject to worldwide trends, weapons, iron during wars. These companies are still profitable without war it's just there's a lot less demand for these goods.

When you want to start a company, always create a organisation first and create the company from your organisation. If you create it from your citizen account, you will lose extra wellness every day and won't be able to work at a company.

When deciding where to play your company, you will want to do some research into potential countries. Have a look at market taxes, export taxes, market competition and the average cost of wages as these will severely affect your ability to get the company off the ground and turn a profit. If you're starting a RM company, always start your company in a high productivity region as there's a significant difference in medium to high regions. You should also save enough capital to start your RM company off and upgrade immediately to Q2 as Q1 has very low profit margins and isn't sustainable in the long-run. It's also important to see if the region you're thinking of starting in has multiple high productivity resources. eg: a region which has both high iron and grain will be highly competitive since there will be a limited supply of land workers and a great demand for land workers (especially iron in time of war). You'll find that the iron companies will post incredibly high job offers and the grain companies just cannot compete and offer such high wages - therefore running out of business.

An issue I can't stress enough is, do not start a company as soon as you reach 20 gold as it really costs a lot more to run a company.
- create an organisation (5 gold)
- create a company (20 gold)
- upgrade Q1 to Q2 if RM company (20 gold)
- initial wages (2 - 3 gold)
- initial RM purchases if running a FG company (2 - 3 gold)

As you can see, the real cost is about 30 gold if starting a FG company and 48 gold if starting a RM company.

These are some resources you can use to manage your company:
- find the cheapest RM's around the world (http://carbonium.pl/market/raw)
- look at worldwide exchange rates (http://carbonium.pl/market/raw)
- find high productivity regions around the world (http://carbonium.pl/regions)
- great company calculator (http://carbonium.pl/regions)
- another company calculator (http://erepmarket.co.cc/prodtest.php)
- info on RM requirements for company and other helpful company info (http://wiki.erepublik.com)

So where would be the best place to work all that out / research?

I'm not sure at the moment as the world is in a bit of a mess, economies on the rebound and what not as this war nears the end.

What you can do is do a spreadsheet of info for a sample of countries. Use the eRepublik website to see the respective taxes and the job market to calculate the average wages for the different sectors and skill levels. You can then use www.ereptools.pl to view the market price of goods over the last 60 days etc to get an idea of what your goods will usually sell for. You can then plug this info into one of the company calculators mentioned above and project what profits you would be earning.

Zamrg, my wellness is 24.(something). I don't think I multipled an account, the one could be a really old one.

I was referring to Q121 :)

You need some serious help with your wellness or you're gonna peg pretty soon :)

The first thing I'd recommend is joining the South African eRepublik forum as there you can apply for one of the programs to provide free gifts and food. For now, you need to work at a Q1 job, eat Q2+ food and stop training until you're gaining wellness. What you're aiming for is to reach 40 wellness so that you can follow the steps I gave Q121 in fighting and healing up to 100 wellness.

Glad I didn't just rush into getting a company ....... I'll have to study very carefully. Good thing is, my gold will just continue to stockpile for when I'm ready :)

You should consider investing that gold in shares or a bank as you'll earn dividends or interest instead of letting the money just sit in your account.
I remember seeing a few banks advertising in http://www.erepublik.com/en/forum/Economy/1 but you'll have to go through the first few pages.

I am Myxenakhataur.
I joined on Thursday evening.

Don't worry about your wellness now as this will be corrected when you reach level 5 (provided you're working a Q1 job, eating Q1 food and training every day).
Your wellness will continue to drop but when you reach level 5, you can then fight and heal.
Follow the same advice I gave Q121 about fighting and healing and you'll be at 100 wellness after 2 days of hitting level 5.

No harm in creating an Org without the intent to buy companies just yet is there? Or does it affect something somewhere?

nope, a org is useful as it gives you extra storage space as well. You can also use it to travel around the world to purchase the cheapest goods.

Next Q: Can two orgs own or have shares in one company? Can two individuals share ownership of a company?
