The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I just finished watching Shiki... 'twas brilliant.

The OST to this anime is haunting, beautiful and I loved it.

SPOILER (not really but rather safe than sorry)

I really questioned my morals at the end. I was calling for blood the whole time and when it finally came the results were quite horrific.

Ah well ... yet another season coming to an end. Fate/Kaleid Liner and Inu to Hasami finished off this weekend as well.

I'm also busy watching Mawaru Penguindrum - it's oddly fascinating, but I can't honestly tell you why. All I know is that I have a hard time stopping once I start watching it.

anything really. I do love the sci-fi and action ones. But also dig thriller and fantasy.

Shingeki no Kyojin finishes this Saturday... I plan to download it then (all the hype surrounding it is KILLING me)

I'm told this anime is nothing short of epic (I received this info from a trusted friend, but he does tend to exaggerate slightly) and it fills both of your requirements, Sci-fi and action: Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu

it stops for a season.... I hope lol the manga stoped for a while but the dont think its the end of the anime

Shingeki no Kyojin is excellent but the Manga is better,Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu looks a bit old.

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu looks a bit old.

That's because it is :p

Here's an anime that I'm interested in watching and is quite recent: Psycho-Pass

Unfortunately I haven't watched it yet so I can't say anything about it but from the reviews I've watched and read it's something like Minority Report

I dropped Shingeki no Kyojin at episode 12 - the pacing was just much too brutally slow for me. I've got the rest of the episodes, so I might marathon them at a later date, but there's really nothing much pulling me back to the show right now. There were plenty of other shows I just enjoyed a lot more this past season.

Basically, anime series get released in seasonal cycles - so you'll see us referring to Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring releases - and obviously when I say Autumn 2013, I'm not talking about our Autumn, but Northern Hemisphere time. So the next cycle, which starts now (September/October), is the Autumn 2013 release cycle, and the majority of new series will start in the first two weeks of October.

The other major months to look out for are January (Winter), April (Spring) and July (Summer).

Every season lasts 12/13 weeks, and I'm sure you've noticed that many series run for 12 or 13 episodes - also referred to as a 1-cour series. Some, obviously, are 2-cour (such as SnK) and run for 24 - 26 episodes.

Dunno if that answers your question.

As for the shows I enjoyed - To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is the obvious choice - I find it a lot more entertaining and the characters are much more engaging. The pacing is also a lot better. SnK's pacing put me to sleep, because by the end of episode 12 pretty much nothing had happened for 4 episodes, and that puts me off. It's the same sort of thing that put me off shows like Naruto and Bleach.

There was also Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C³-bu, Rozen Maiden, the Monogatari series, Servant x Service, Blood Lad, Silver Spoon, Tamayura and Love Lab.

There are a few other shows which I found a little less engaging, but still kept watching, and these include Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, Dog and Scissors, Kiniro Mosaic, Watamote, Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi and Fantasista Doll. The point being, of course, that none of these shows bored me to tears as much as SnK did.

I accept that things probably picked up later on, but the thing with me is that, once I lose interest in a show, it's very rare that I'll come back to it.

Ahhhhh. This explains a lot, great explanation. Thanks:D

Decided to download Danganronpa The Animation looks very odd so I will give it a try. Will watch it tonight.

If you're interested, here's a link to Neregate's Fall 2013 Release Chart (warning: it's big. very big) - so you can start shopping for shows to watch from next week onwards. I'm still working through it myself, but I've already got the following pick-ups on my list:

* Kyoukai no Kanata
* Nagi no Asakura
* Outbreak Company
* KILL la KILL
* Golden Time
* Magi: Kingdom of Magic
* Little Busters ~Refrain~ (this one was a given)
* Machine Doll wa Kizutsukanai

I'm looking at Log Horizon as a possibility, but I'm not sure if I'll watch it through, since it seems like it will be cashing in on Sword Art Online's popularity, so it'll really depend on the impression I gain from the first few episodes. A few more might make it onto the list, I'll only know once I've gone through all of them.

im very behind on my anime its sad >< need to catch up on last seasons anime

Oh, trust me, you don't want to see my backlog. This is my main reason for trying to keep up with shows as they are airing, as much as I can at least :D

The rest of my backlog is slowly, but very surely, getting smaller.

Anime I still need to watch....they stored on my laptop hard drive but I haven't gotten to them yet :(

- Bakuman
- K Project
- Ergo Proxy
- Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

I will be getting all the anime on shadowfox's list....hope you don't me copying :D
