The official Witcher 3 thread

ahh yes, silly me, i was still searching for "wired" version that was R170 more :) and so with the normal wireless, you just hook u with a vanilla micro-usb and you sorted ?

edit : apologies for derail. back on topic : I finished downloading the "pre-load" off gog :) ready to rock n roll!

Yeah any micro usb cable will work. /end off topic :p

I think one of the biggest gripes I have with the game, is that the attack patterns looks very repetitive. Albeit a small gripe, just something I've noticed from all the video I've seen.

Is it necessary to start from the witcher 1 for someone new to the series?

They say not. I've never played the Witcher 1 but I've never played the Witcher 2. They state someone new to the series can just pick up and go in Witcher 3.

AFAIK, the dev's have said, you will be filled in on the previous two games. So you will not go in totally blind.

I think its more important to have read the books tbh to know the background on yennifer and ciri, some reviews are pointing to this as welll.

Stupid question no. 679: How the hell do you download this using FDM? it doesn't seem to recognize the link or gives access denied.

Which browser are you using? I'm not sure about Chrome, but there is an FDM add-on for Firefox that you need to install after installing FDM in order for it to work properly.

Another small gripe: I like that there's weather effects, but the wind effect on the trees looks a bit funky. Like the trees have Parkinson's or something, they seem a bit twitchy :P

like I say, just something small, the little details.

Rated M for Merigold. :D

Coincidentally, that will be how my face looks when this game finally launches.

i had FDM installed and i then went to options and activated the CHROME extension. It then restarted chrome and i then went to gog.com and clicked the download files. they then automatically appeared on FDM and got downloaded just fine :)

i now have stupid question no 732 :
so i pre-downloaded The Witcher 3 via the gog website, as i wanted to grab the seperate chunks more easily. I then ran the setup and installed the game to my "E" drive.
i then installed GALAXY and i went to library and found TW3 and setup the folder to have it point to my E:\GOG GAMES\TW3 folder. so far so good.
but now, when i click the game in Galaxy and choose "show folder", it defaults to a generic "C:\program files\gog" path.
but i did the same as above with KERBAL and that reflects the correct path when i hit SHOW FOLDER.
is this simply due to TW3 not being officially released yet ?

I think that's unlikely. Maybe due to you using an external download manager would be my first assumption.

I would say, try starting the download through GoGalaxy so that it creates the folder structure. Then install using the downloaded files to the same location. Then re-open GoGalaxy and see if that worked.

Two video summaries for the Witcher virgins such as I. Pretty much cover the same info in both, so pick your accented presenter pleasure and enjoy:

Irish English:

(based on those 2 video grabs, looks like cleavage may be involved here)
