The official Witcher 3 thread

"I saw a long ship made of the claws of dead men" Gets me every time. I've watched the trailer too many times.

Here's a non compressed 1080p version of the video, it's about 200mb's:

1. Right click -> 2. Save link as, if you're using Chrome. Probably something similar if you're using another browser. 3. See all the magnificent particle effects :D

They need to work on the aliasing in the city environment :p

Witcher 3 should be great my only worry is it that its open world and they are a small team.

Fair point; However the team approaches their projects as a labour of love not of work. Considering the level of improvement from Witcher 1 to 2; the transition to Open World is a task that I believe is well within their ability; moreover I am certain they shall exceed expectations

I felt remarkably over-whelmed in the Witcher 2 world. So much so, I stopped playing because it was a chore as to how busy the world was and how much time it took out of my day to play. If they could in the very least, make it more fun and improve the controls a bit - I think I'll love Witcher 3.

I think part of what they were going for is to give a sense of involvement. I liked how busy and distracting the world was because it gave me a sense of that I was in a different world.

Yeah, but I'm a competitionist :p I have plenty patience and even this game got too long.

Yes witcher 2 was awesome I love rpg's that are so involved the only problem was that it fell away in the final third of the game.

Lol, I guarantee that Witcher 3 will be at least twice as long :p...so you must meditate in the mountains to prepare :D

Yeah I cannot deny that that final portion of the game was not up to the standard set by the first two acts. I could see what they were trying to do; however it could be that they fell prey to the same distraction that gripped the rest of us with regards to the world"whistling:. They themselves got lost in the world

Not any major news, but new logos for The Witcher 3 and CD Projekt. For all I care, their logo could be a big, red, flaming d*** and I would still buy their games.

I see they removed emphasis on the 3 in "The Witcher 3", I guess they're trying to get more mainstream appeal. The CDP logo actually looks like a Pokemon, I think it's rather badass.

I don't think it was mentioned anywhere here, but the game is set to release sometime in February of 2015. Megarom will be in charge of making the disk version available locally.

My wife will be very pleased with this news :) She's contemplating getting a next-gen console just for this game.

That seems like a waste of money, unless she's really interested in an exclusive or something. Build her a PC instead :D And buy her a controller. ;) The experience will most likely be way better than on any of the consoles. The Witcher 3 looks incredible, and many other lesser looking "next-gen" (more like current gen) are already struggling on the PS4 and XB1.

They announced yesterday that Watch_Dogs will be 30 FPS on both consoles, at 900p and 792p on the PS4 and XB1 respectively. So much for the whole 1080p-60FPS thing; seems like it was dead on arrival.

She should play the older two games as well, if she's interested in The Witcher 3. The series is very story-driven, and she might get confused if she jumps straight into TW3. They're regularly on sale on GOG and Steam, for next to nothing.

CD Projekt RED is having their summer conference tonight where they will release details about the CE for Witcher 3 as well as new gameplay tonight! If I have my time right it will start at 20:00 local time tonight (11am PST). I know I'll be watching. :D

Fcking hell that game looks awesome.

And now I finally have a PC that can handle a Witcher game!

I wonder if we will be receiving the Bandai Namco or WB published version. Most likely Bandai as they are publishing the PAL version for consoles.
