I dread if my PSU goes and takes my MB with...it will be a little pricey
This discussion got me thinking. If my PSU and/or components go pop due to loadshedding, can I claim it form insurance? It's damage to my property caused by an external source after all.
Yes you can. My PC is a specified item on my insurance due to its total replacement cost.
Mine is covered under household, as it does not leave the property, so they say. I actually queried this a little while ago as total replacement is close to 20k (if not more), they said I do not have to specify it.
Good to know thanks.

Seems as though our bonded solution is no longer a viable option, we may have to move to VDSL.
Apparently the exchange is no longer "compliant".
Is it a problem renaming a computer that has PASTEL installed? I can't remember.
Bump... just wanting to see if anyone has experience with this before make a change tomorrow.

PsychoFish - for some unholy reason I cannot get VMware Workstation installed on my machine and having to use vSphere which is cumbersome. Do you know of maybe an alternative solution?
What do you want to achieve? Run VMs locally on your machine or manage a vCenter instance?
oh sorry, connecting to and managing a host with multiple VM's and at times I need to use the console to work on them as they aren't accessible via RDP. Will need to be able to use console, manage the VM, snapshots etc.
Just wondering if there are alternative connectivity solutions (seeing as I can't use Workstation).
