Hi guys. I was gonna post a new thread but thank god I found this thread! Should be stickied btw but I digress.
I need to diagnose what's wrong with my pc.
So far it can either be the mobo and/ cpu that's kaput.
See, the thing is - I'll start up my pc but the mobo will make NO beeping sound whatsoever. Even when I remove the RAM modules. Everything else runs just fine (i.e the HDD spins, HSF spins etc).
So I need a diagnosis from you guys. Is it my mobo or my cpu??
Thanks!
Have you tested the setup outside your case?(wood Table) what does it do
Finally someone replied! Haven't tried that yet. Will do. I've given up on this mobo tbh.
My PC woe is that its old and sucks and everything needs to be replaced. Things are all dying slowly but surely. Fans are giving up.

My monitor's native resolution is 1360x768, but in Windows settings and my Nvidia settings [New Nvidia drivers installed yesterday] is displayed as 1024x768 -- as my native resolution -- it also shows all resolutions, even those unsupported resolutions. And loading some games causes a game to go out of its [the monitor's] current resolution and into something it doesn't support whereby rendering my screen black, and the screen's settings indicate to me it is out of its range. Alt+F4 doesn't work, nor can I access Task Manager while this is happening.
How can I fix this. It used to show differently. Sometimes it shows 1360x768 as native [as it should be], but since all updates and required installs - this is what it shows.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
and stay away from BETA driversTry roll back to the previous version of the working drivers.
It may be that there are traces of the old drivers still remaining while the new one is installed. Or corrupt install(?)
If rolling back doesn't work, do a complete sweep of the driver and install the latest one.
Don't use the nvidia "experience" auto update.
Manually go to the driver website and get the version that suits your OS+hardware.
Can a faulty or broken motherboard cause a monitor to get no signal? After successfully installing Windows, I went ahead and connected my GPU. Windows detected the GPU and requested a restart. It restated but the monitor now doesn't get signal. Any help/advice?
Edit: tried removing and cleaning ram - no difference.

Hey Hagan, I would try and cancel out a few things. First off Go into BIOS and set your on-board graphics to be your primary display. Remove the other graphics card completely. Boot up and tell us whats going on.
