pooping myself right now... been at my PC all day trying to work wonders in getting this Exchange database backed up.

Seems I'm just talking to myself 'ere... and defrag at 60%, still need to do a checksum and then only can I mount the DB and check connectivity and functionality.

Don't worry dude, I've also been working pretty much the whole day. Had a grand total of one half-day off the past 3 weeks (the other half of that day was stuck in traffic due to a friggen accident on the N3 where they closed all 4 lanes of the highway and routed the traffic to an off-ramp and through the city). Monster energy drinks have become my staple diet in trying to stay awake recently. I guess my kidneys are gonna hate me for it in a couple of weeks, but one problem at a time. :p

EDIT: What do you do with your laaitie when you work such ungodly hours???

Yeah, still going. At least things are looking good. Exchange DB is fixed and mounted and just ensuring client logins.

I managed to get his mother to keep him for another night, with a bit of arm twisting.

@Beo, dude, we need to talk, I don't know your infrastructure, but I know infrastructure very well. Could give you a couple of pointers and tips that will prevent disasters.

So flipping glad I resigned and took the job in Cape Town though. Current company seems like it's tanking slowly or being bought over by another company and the executive board's messages to employees are as clear as mud. 3 weeks ago I spoke to a VP who said "We're not planning on cutting any positions", last week Tuesday the company filed documents with the SEC (we're NASDAQ listed) that has to do with changes in senior management and laying off of employees. Thursday last week 5 people in my office got the chop. WTF, and based on the numbers they published (I had to do a bit of math) it looks like they are going to cut between 5% and 7% of staff globally. I just need some stability, funny how things seem to work out that way.

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone had an OK or better weekend.

Good luck BeoTeK, i hope you got everything sorted, last night/this morning.

Yeah dude, if you're serious I would welcome the chat.

But yeah, it's good to have stability. And hey, it's amazing what a bit of faith can provide.

Thanks mate, just dropped the laatie off at school and popped in at the office. Everything seems to be functional and busy performing a bare metal backup. I hope all goes well. But some people just don't get it. They can't understand why I didn't do the actually task that I was set out to do. Because shit happened and I got things working/running again! Crisis diverted! Then I will tackle the task again.

Morning all

Nice case of food poisoning to start the week off with. Weirdly I'm actually glad I got it, because the little one kept us awake most of the night.
Also lost my modem this weekend due to lightning. It still powers on, but none of the LAN ports work. Luckily I had a backup modem around.

Beo, that really sucks mate. I hope your leave is smooth sailing and awesome henceforth :)

Just finished Blackgaurds I must tell you the end was just a snore fest of battles that just never seems to end.

(Rant)
You had to complete a 9 stage arena battle or 3 battles each this is for exp so you can stand a chance at the 13 to come and boss battle.
You don't get enough skill points so you can't really spec into another weapon and sometimes enemies are immune to a damage and well even switching weapons with a low skill points assigned to it makes it feel like a joke doing 1-2 damage.
Also they fking kill the only range hero they give you in the game pretty early on. I have a 2H warrior with maxed out stats to give him damage and still the dwarf with a 1h axe and shield won in the damage numbers( O and he gets his axe on a side quest early on in the game and you keep it till the boss battle). So what is the fking use of using 2H weapons. (/Semi End RANT}

Now I hope to play another game with better rewards and not such fustrating battles.

I was hoping to try this out after finishing witcher 2. From what you are saying it sounds crap.

Would a hosted exchange not be an option for you? I must say we are with Rackspace currently and we've not had any issues with them what so ever.

We had a run of bad luck where we got broken into quite often and every time our server's components would be taken along with lots of other stuff, and a hosted exchange really helped us a lot.

We started looking at Office 365 Business, but then with the whole companies merger and changes and stuff, things are stagnent until we know what's happening. Now three of us have Office365 out of >100.
