Welcome to MyGaming Dota 2 SECS

James

MyGaming Alumnus
Welcome to MyGaming's first Dota 2 Sunday Evening Cup Series, hosted by PolarfluKe.

As this is the first tournament of its type on MyGaming, we are hoping to learn a lot from the experience. That's not to say this will be an amateurish affair - PolarfluKe has years of experience hosting such tournaments in the SA competitive online gaming space, so we are in good hands.

All registered MyGaming forum members are welcome to enter the tournament, or observe the proceedings over the coming weeks.

The tournament will be live-streamed with commentary.

With the high-calibre of Dota 2 gameplay showcased by SA gamers and the ever-growing professional gaming scene in the country, we hope that MyGaming can add to that landscape with a successful tournament.

Whether a green-gilled noob or a grizzled veteran, please join us in the first of what will hopefully be an ongoing endeavour.

We would appreciate as much feedback as possible from both participants and observers of the tournament.

Please post comments, suggestions, observations, criticism, discussions and any other thoughts you have in the Dota 2 SECS forum.

At the end of this first run, we want to label the tournament as a success, which will mean more tournaments in the near future, with the potential for bigger and better prizes as we go along.

It's up to the community to show us that there is room for such independent gaming cup tournaments, so get those forum posts coming and hone your Dota 2 skills.

See you on the war fields.

Regards,
James

When will everything start? Only stumbled across this by mistake but am lank keen to get involved :D

I know absolutely nothing about Dota 2. In fact, it's a genre that I've never tried. Will have to get the game and observe the matches. :)

I watched James play HoN, I've observed matches in DOTA2 and I can comfortably say that it's a scary, scary world with its vicious smack-talk and fast-paced competitive brutality.

I'd love to give it a shot but I think I'd just end up crying

When did you move to Sweden? Played Bots yet?

I don't like the times. Sunday evening at that time I don't usually play anything.

When did you move to Sweden?

Two weeks ago, after ages of planning.

Played Bots yet?

Haven't even heard of it. Is it another of these Hon/DOTA/LoL games? I'm really not very into them. I really don't like competitive gaming (I get way too into it to the point of obsession TO WIN!). That, and I'm a terribly sore loser.

Although, maybe I've mellowed. HAH. Not.

It's a shame that these are on Sundays which kinda overlaps with most of our Dota 2 DGL matches. Otherwise we would have been keen to enter!

Sigh now I'm even more upset with Telkom. I'd looove to take part in this holly crap!! But my line has been congested for 2 months so it's not really gona work out

This looks like a ton of fun!

Are you guys planning on starting another round some time?

BTW, I'm new here :P Dunno where to introduce myself :$

Hi czc,

The SECS matches only happen on Sundays. For the DoGaming playoffs you have a month to play 3 matches, so there should not be any problems in participating in both.
