Whats the best gaming mouse?

I bought a Logitech MX518 mouse 2 years ago.

Only problem is the logitech signplate on the mouse fades away with use, no resale value.

Other than that, it works great! On-the-fly dpi adjustments FTW:D

Only problem I have with my G5 is that it's the first edition one which doesn't come out with two side buttons, only one. :(

That's the one I have, but tbh, I only use that button when browsing, cause I am currently only playing War3 and GTA IV. :o

There used to be a Mamba mouse, but this was ages ago. Wonder how the new one will measure up?

I'm using the Razor diamondback, great mouse, but it really does depend on the size of your hand and whether you're right or left handed. The diamondback is ambidextrous btw.

It's pretty much up to individual choice
How many Buttons you need, optical or laszer, which mousepad you are planning on using, whats the max DPI you require, how customizable the macro and driver set is.

My advice would be to test as many mice as possible, paly with everyones at LAN's until you find the one that fits best

Sorry for the dumb question but whats the difference between lazer and optical?

Not a dumb question at all
Its mostly a hardware core difference
It is the difference in the type of sensor your mouse uses to track movement
Optical used to be the norm, although lazer has taken over 90 percent of the market with higher report rates ( up to 1Ghz, ensuring smooth tracking ) and higher DPI's

Although that said, I playtested the Steelseries iKari mice a few months back, the Lazer was nice, but the optical, when paired with a mousepad specifically designed for it, gave me the best response in those
**WTFWASTHATHENEARLYKILLEDME ** jerk movements I so often have.
:) Ask Tinman, he has met the iGame bunny on a few occasions

Best gaming mouse !!!!

the one which i thibk is the best of all is
"SideWinder X8 Wireless Gaming Mouse"
Has Ridiculous 4000DPI,

Best mouse is undoubtebly the SteelSeries IKARI Laser. With a price of R1000 its quite a whopper so hardly anybody gets it. I bought it after I didn't know what to do with my money (which I highly regret, cuz, cmon ... its a goddamn mouse that im buying for R1000!), but it has definitely increased my gaming performance. Close behind the SS IKARI is anything by Razer or the Logitech G5.

IMHO, the SteelSeries IKARI Laser is the way to go if you have R1000 to spare. But personally now if I look back I wouldve gotten a more value product, like the Razer Diamond..

There is a guy on the prophecy forum selling them for R500.

BTW, G5 FTW. :D

I r a Razer fan.

I currently have a death adder, had krait previously. Both are awesome peripherals. Although the transition from krait to death adder was immense. It took me quite a while to get used the death adder feel, but once I got the hang of it ... ping! ping! ping! :D
