I really like the new design.

What I don't like (and its always been this way) and maybe its just me, but why cant we have the site go all the way to the edges. Why do we have to have black on the sides like its a badly formatted movie. I have a widescreen TV and it just looks horrible on it.

But the new bigger pictures at the home page are sweet. :-) End on a positive!

I have a widescreen, and I see the same. It really doesn't bother me.
I'm not exactly try to show it off to friends and family to be impressive... That's the idea, right?
 
loving the wider format, nice to see you guys a catering for it and keeping with the times.

Simplified yet still functional, I am enjoying it.

I had some suggestions such as the main image slider, perhaps including an auto rotate would be nice, but no fancy transitions as I've found it sometimes is distracting.

I also thought the black background on the image slider rollover's (on the right) is a bit to "contrasty" for the site.

Just fiddled in Chrome developer tools to change the colors slightly to what I mean by less contrasted.

The search results page is quite nice to navigate, I did notice on the right column down the page there is a section called "Top Commentators", just wondering what that is for :)

Lastly the "About" link in the footer is linking to http://mygaming.co.za/news/pc

Well thats my 2c :) Any thoughts?
 
This may be just me, but I liked the author's picture / avatar next to the name at the top of each article... It just kinda put a face to the name.
 
I also feel the headings could use a slightly "Bolder" font, for sections such as LATEST NEWS, and TOP ARTICLES to draw more attention.
White text is generally not much of a visual queue in my opinion.

I have always been a fan of the blue color used across the MyG site in the past, shown in the below image.

For me it's always been a definitive color of Mygaming, even the Icon has become a powerful brand in my mind.
The color is evident in the poll results too :)

When I see the pacman logo, or this bright blue color, I think of MyGaming.

It would be awesome to see this color used more in perhaps the image slider, or post titles / comments on the main page, or the Top Articles section in the right col.

Yup I agree with your there. It's nice to "know" the author in a sense, gives a much better community feel.

This ugly icon really needs to go now this is the 3/4 update and its still there. I normally just block it so I don't have to see it
