I thought February only had 28 days... Am I missing something?

My area still hasn't received any loadshedding, neither has my work as they are on the same grid...
Like nothing at all?
Which part of jhb?
Am I missing something?![]()
Any one that lives in Pretoria East that has access to a reliable time table for load shedding?
I can't seem to find one anywhere that is accurate or kept up to date regularly

Basically check the Eskom Loadshedding site (http://loadshedding.eskom.co.za/) to see which loadshedding stage is active (Stage 1, 2 or 3).
Then look up your area at Tshwane's site (http://www.tshwane.gov.za/Services/Electricity/Pages/LoadShedding.aspx). Once you have your area number, you can check on the top 3 tables when your power will be off.
For instance, my area (Rooihuiskraal North) is in group 13. So our normal outage time is from 14:00 to 16:30... Stage 1 only on certain days and Stage 2 every day of the week. For Stage 3, we're off at the same time but also from 06:00 to 08:30.

The same with my squash partner here in Centurion. Not sure why. Maybe you/he is on the same grid as an important government building?
Wow that is smaller than I was expecting. Also you run your pc, home theater, tv, etc on 1000W? Is it a low power PC?
I'm just wondering because my home theater system is 1510W alone :/
My pc uses about 460W, still add the tv, some lights, and perhaps a microwave. I was looking to get a 3.5-4kVA generator.
Tried all of that Viper, just thought someone in the Wingate/Elarduspark area might have some dif kind of info! Thanks though
Yes, although my PC is idling when the TV is on (so not gaming at watching tv at same time). PC has a 750W PSU. Home theater system must be on in order for my TV to work because all my devices go through it. I have the Sony 7.2 system (2000W), but obviously I'm only using a fraction of the capacity.
I guess a 4kVA should work, although not sure how stable to power to the computer will be. It could just be that my UPS was too sensitive or something hence my problems.

And it is not accurate? Mine is, although a lot of times they announce that loadshedding will only commence at 4pm, so I pretty much miss it completely. Well, for this week anyway.

Yeah I looked at a suitable PSU for my PC, and it will cost about R2000. Now the question becomes do I want to spend that much money (+ R6000 for the generator) or just be without power for 2 hours.
A generator for me makes sense since I'm working from home. 2.5 hours a day is very valuable.

I will test it Isengard![]()
Are you close to a hospital ?
Got a few people lucky enough to be within 250m of a hospital and thus far they just laugh at me when I mention load shedding... I am tempted to find their powerbox and bring a big hammer![]()
Stage 1 started, hoooray!
Going offline at home from 16:00, thats when I leave work. Looking forward spending quality time in traffic.
