Xbox 360 VS PS3

You really gonna compare GOWIII to Mass Effect 2? Two completely different games. If you had to compare Dantes Inferno to GOWIII then I would agree with you. They are similar games. I never play games like Halo, Mass Effect, COD etc. I am reliably useless at them, but recently I bought COD MW2 and I enjoyed it quite a bit and loved the reviews for ME2. All I can say is WOW. I haven't played a better game in the past 6 months. For me to actually get away from Forza 3, NFS Shift and Fifa 10 just to play this game speaks leaps and bounds for those that know me.

Oh and if you look at my sig, I actually got a copy of ME1 as well.

No, I'm not comparing, but i think New Novelty said it best: God of war III > Everything xBox

I'm new to this console gaming stuff, but as a geek, heres what I've seen. Ive had my playstation 3, and my brother in law a xbox for about a month now. For me everything just worked out the box. My first problem I have with the xbox, is the lack of build in wireless. There is this need to register and then have to download codecs, in order to user the multimedia side of watching movies. As with the wireless .. why is it not built in.
The gaming side. I do see there is a greater support and variety for the xbox. Other than that, I think the playstation console, has more sleekier and mature feel to it. Im sure there's other reasons why I think, I get greater value for the money I spent. and really just plain simplicity and easiness , than I would if I had an Xbox, but im sure too, everyone's mileage varies

Seeing as I don't have an xbox, I say Playstation rules!!!
I guess growing up Final Fantasy and Resident Evil was usually out in Playstation first. I have grown attached to PS.
I also love my handheld PSP ... I wonder if XBOX will come out with a handheld gaming system.

Methinks you are forgetting that the PSP is not the last word in handheld gaming systems, but that's a topic for another thread. ;)

I personally think each one has its own appeal - depending on what you want to do.
I have a Xbox and enjoy it thoroughly, but recently I decided I also want to buy a PS3...
PS3's game list was very limited a year or so back, but since then it has really improved.
Blueray is nice IF you buy/rent BD movies, if not then it has no use.
Xbox Live is better than PSN according to what I hear even though you have to pay.
so yeah, i'd say its just personal preference mostly.

I only picked it up a year after it was released....and spent 45 mins max with it....my thoughts were WTF!? This sucks!!!

I feel you - was my thoughts exactly.
I bought it mid last year and haven't played it again since.
At that stage we did play a bit of the co-op campaign and it was more enjoyable with a buddy. But coming from FPS PC gaming, Halo is def not comparable and I dont see the mass appeal...
Though the stats dont lie, and ppl still playing it and hailing it as king.
But Halo aside, even though console exclusive titles are the decision maker for some people, I work more on a value proposition...
At the time I bought my xbox it had the greatest value vs enjoyment (nr of games I wanted) - PS3 didnt.
As I previously said, now the PS has some very nice games so i'm considering getting one.

cool guys xbox still king.;...

Match it up like this:
Take away the two console's basic function, which is a GAMING console. So, lets say a PS3 and X360 cant play games....
Unfortunately, feature-for-feature, the PS3 does still wipe the floor with the X360...

This is evident if i look at people around me recently. A lot of friends (and eventually myself) sold off their xbox stuff when the PS3 Slim launched. Again, X360 lovers can really have a look at http://mygaming.co.za/forum/showthread.php?5076-PS3-amp-Xbox360-The-finer-details...&highlight= to see the true differences, gaming aside, between the consoles.

On added features PS3 does outshine the XBox 360, it only recently got support for Usb drives a bit late. Games wise the only way to differentiate is between exclusives, mainstream games are available on both. The only downside i see for the PS3 is when most developers make games (Multiplat Console games) they design on the Xbox and port to the PS3 instead of making the game individual to each. I believe this is cost based and not cause they dont have the time.
