MyGaming recently reported on the news that the PC version of Battlefield 1 had received a 66% price increase.
It has now been revealed that all EA games will be affected by this new price increase, most notably with FIFA 17 and Titanfall 2 both moving to the R1,000 standard price point.
This follows a recent persistent disparity between retail and digital video game prices in South Africa, with EA Games being much cheaper on Origin South Africa than from any local retailer.
As this is the price “we are supposed to be paying” according to the current Rand/Dollar exchange rate, don’t expect these prices to drop any time soon.
This is especially concerning as PC games have traditionally been considered a cheaper option than console gaming but these new increases bring the two almost on par.
