In a post on the PlayStation Blog, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, has announced that PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now will be merged into one subscription service.
This new service will still be called PlayStation Plus but will now have three tiers of subscription plans available to players.
Note the South African prices for this new service have not yet been released.

When this new PlayStation Plus service launches, PlayStation Now will no longer be offered as a standalone option. Existing PlayStation Now members will be migrated to PlayStation Plus Premium at no additional cost.
The launch of the new PlayStation Plus will begin in June and follow a regional-based sequence of launches starting with several markets in Asia, followed by North America, Europe and the rest of the world where PlayStation Plus is offered.
Sony said it aims to have the service live in most regions within the first half of 2022.
Additionally, Ryan indicated that there are plans to expand their cloud streaming to more markets and that further details will be provided at a later date.
More information about the new PlayStation Plus will be released as the launch date approaches.
