ARK: Survival Evolved is proof that people don’t care about game reviews

20 September 2016

MyGaming recently reported on the controversial ARK: Scorched Earth expansion – a R219 DLC for a game still in Early Access.

Nearly a month on and the critical consensus surrounding the game has soured remarkably, with 12,000 “Mostly Negative” recent reviews compared to only 2,000 “Positive Reviews”.

It seems that consumers voted otherwise with their wallets however, as the game has not only remained fixed to Steam’s top 10 list but has actually increased in player size, reports Githyp.

The game’s active playerbase has actually increased by 23% month on month.

“Looking at ARK’s weekend peaks on Saturdays over the past month, the average players per hour has gone from 36,637 players on August 20 to an average players per hour value of 47,681 most recently on September 17.”

So $40 for 3 insane maps and Primitive Plus which adds a ton more content to 2 of them? Oh and unlimited online content and days of unparalleled trolling lol? Sorry but if i’m getting a Whole game and DLC (which they coulda waited for release to launch aka $20) for only $40 when I could be paying $59.99 for the game at release and then another $19.99 for expac.Hahaha Ill take the $40 now and not wait till release when all the prices go to their “Shelf Value.” Getting the game and DLC for less than the Released price of the actually game is worth it in my opinion
