Genital Jousting publisher’s wife went into labour 2 hours before launch

Two hours before launch on Steam Early Access, developers at South African game studio Free Lives were still hard at work on their new game, Genital Jousting.

Also at T minus two hours, their publisher Devolver Digital informed them that the person looking after their game was having a baby.

“Nigel’s wife just went into labour,” Free Lives producer Shaz Greenwood tells the camera in a documentary video uploaded to YouTube.

“It’s exciting,” Greenwood looks on the verge of tears, probably a mixture of stress and joy. “We’re launching in two hours.”

It is nothing short of modern poetry.

On one end of the world, the fruit of one publisher’s DNA rifle is about to be born into this world. On the other, a team is furiously trying to iron all the game-breaking bugs out of their game about penises with sphincters.

Not even Shakespeare could have composed such delightfully crude beauty.
