The man behind the popular Half-Life 2 mod, Garry’s Mod, is busy working on a new game which has just entered its alpha state – that game being Rust.
Garry Newman is developing Rust to be an open-world exploration and combat game, which features elements similar to that of Minecraft and DayZ.
The P2P survival game doesn’t feature any communication methods between players, which obviously makes one sceptical of what other players are up to, keeping you on your toes, even if you’re “working together”.
Like Minecraft, the game requires players to use a hatchet to gather resources and materials in order to build structures, houses and to craft weapons and items, while avoiding radiation.
A full day-night cycle will see zombies, mutants, wolves and other creatures arrive when the sun goes down, which will give some incentive for players to stock up and fortify their homes.
