The Witcher 3 won’t support 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro

The Witcher 3 will not be receiving a high-resolution patch for the PlayStation 4 Pro, GameRant reports.

This means that despite the upcoming console offering a massive boost in graphics processing power, the game will look exactly the same as it did on the original PlayStation 4.

Console gamers will not be able to play the game at an upscaled 4K resolution and will be stuck at 1080p, although they may experience a more stable framerate.

CD Projekt RED has stated that it is possible to release a 4K resolution patch for the PS4 Pro, but this would be a drain on resources and would hinder production of its upcoming Gwent collectible card game and the ambitious Cyberpunk 2077.

If you were planning on buying the PS4 Pro to enjoy the Witcher 3 at upscaled 4K, you’d be better off buying a gaming PC instead.
