All things Sport

I am positive the teams are still sandbagging, we will have to wait and see at qualies in 40 Days . . . .

LOL Nope it is to try and hide some of their new bits and bobs for as long as possible so that no one can easily steal their design ideas. Altho the rumour is that they are trying to hide the fact that it is last years car.

Well i saw a testing pic where they had Aerodynamic paint running on the car yesterday which means they are still testing hard.

On another note i hope the referee's in this years super rugby have a better season cos we had a few shockers last year and already one of the most dismal referees are blowing the stormers vs bulls game :( Jaco Pyper

here's the rest

I like that idea! :D But yeah, the camo thing for aero parts have long been a thing, have a look at when an F1 car gets picked up by a crane. There will be some junior member of each team nearby with a camera, trying to get a couple of shots of the underside of the cars, in order to learn the other teams' downforce secrets.

With the hard limits on wind tunnel testing and CFD analysis, the aero paint at this stage is perfectly normal. In fact, it was the norm before the limits were set so low. CFD is only ever an approximation of a physics model, and this model has to be verified as correct, or some difference between the model and real life should be quantified, i.e. the CFD says we have 5000 N of downforce, but our tests show 4000 N, so we assume that the other forces predicted by CFD will be out by around 20 % as well. (Numbers completely made up for the purpose of providing an example.)

On F1:

I too love the look of the Red Bull car in it's camo paint, but I understand why they are doing it. I wonder if they've added anything new they don't want the competition to see because they believe it's going to give them a competitive edge. As for whom I'm supporting, well it's definitely going to be Ferrari. My two favourite drivers in one team!!!

On Rugby:

AT, I have so much to say about the refereeing in rugby, but I don't want to get upset so early in the morning. All I will say is that I wish the bloody people in charge can decide on which rule book to use, and that they can abolish a lot of the more subjective rules in the rucks and scrums.

So is this just a pre season paint job? or are they actually going to race in it?

Not sure yet, haven't seen anything to confirm either which yet. If they do keep it as is for racing, it will be very different, but then not enough space for sponsors so I kinda doubt it :(

Thanks AT for the great share. The jerseys this year does look good. And I kinda like the Lions in Black, though looking at the rest of the kits I can't imagine them ever using it.
