Thread of PC Woes, Troubles, Problems, and Issues

Yeah...I tried that. I need drivers for the adapter version - which is not listed - and the driver version is 3.54.0.439. Which I could get from soft32...but I'm having trouble with them. I submitted a report, so all I have to do is wait

EDIT: I went through the manual to find out exactly what I lan card I had and I did, so I'm going to the official site and DLing from there.

Explore.exe is using 50% of my cpu in taskmanager, 7 32bit, I found some work arounds for vista but so far nothing for windows 7. After a restart it goes away but then later on is back again.

Anybody got a quick solution to this?

Do a scan with malwarebytes anti malware..sounds like some kin of malware.
 
Guyz i got a problem i and don't think anyone can fix
I got a 2.8 Core 2 Duo, ECS P45T-A board, Force 3D radeon Hd4830,550 Watt Psu, 4gb ram. Windows xp

This pc crashes on every new Nvidia game i buy. Now i know what you thinking...."Get a NVIDIA card" right.

But i got another pc with 2.2 Dual core, Jetway kuroshio board, Force 3d Radeon Hd4830,400 Watt PSU, 4gb rams, windows xp

This pc does not crash at all. I know it sounds wierd but this lesser beast pc works perfect in everygame.

So plz guyz hep me out.

The games run ok, but soon thereafter it crashes the pc. The crashes seem random not constantly on one spot or by doing anything that requires more cpu, you can play for 10 minutes or maybe an hour it is totally random. The monitor would go black and the pc cpu,gpu or psu (i dont really know which one) makes a sound like its speeding up and then I can't do anything on the pc not even turning off and on the monitor helps. I am then forced to restart the pc.

Like sanji say's its possible overheating problem.
The cpu should shut the pc completely down if its overheating but clean the heatsink of that as well.
Your gpu then shuts down to prevent damage to it that's why the screen goes black.
I would say open up your case and blow out the dust on your gpu fan just make sure to secure the fan before blowing so it does not over spin from the blowing. Or take a toothpick and scrape the dust away and some thin paper to clean the fan.

Thnx dude, will definetly take a close look at the pc, clean put some thermal paste on the cpu and stuff and get back to you with the results.
 
Installing xp home on a clients pc gives me the error. "Windows installation incomplete please restart setup"

Done a repair on the windows and now suddenly the windows system file is missing.
 
boot from the disc, and do another repair...that might help. Or ask if him if he has no valuable data, if not, format from the boot up disc and re-install, or take the HDD out, recover the data, then format from setup. That might help. Don't choose the "quick format" option, do a thorough format, to wipe everything off. Just some suggestions.

Thanks yeah asked them if I could not recover the windows if I could do a full systems format and they said it was fine. It seems the logical explanation was a virus after searching to what this might be.
 
Been having trouble with games crashing every now and then within first 30 minute of gameplay then constantly afterwords after rebooting...

Blank screen, power still going through desktop, with buzzing sound through speakers:

Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, latest update

Sapphire 5850 fully updated drivers no CCC (Catalyst Control Centre), it helped for a while then started crashing again

Intel DP45SG Board, all updated, again helped for a bit then... well crashing again

4 GB ram 1033Mhz

Powersupply 550W, can't remember name, but have on good authority it is very good and it has been stress tested by professionals with no problems (Makes funny pulsating buzzing sound when power goes through desktop, if you can explain that too it would be appreciated)

Onboard sound card

Norton 2010, disabled when playing games.

Ideas?

I'd say more likely that its the PSU. I recently had a PC that had exactly the same problem as your describing as the result of a faulty PSU, 30 mins of gameplay, then it would crash to a black screen with a buzz through the speakers. It gradually got worse until pretty much any load on the PSU caused it to do this. I would recommend taking it in on warranty and having them test it out.

The noise sounds similar to volt squeal, it doesn't indicate anything is wrong and you wouldn't be able to get a replacement on warranty for components just because of volt squeal. Sometimes GFX cards, motherboards or PSUs do it.
