Neverwinter : Beta Impressions from Total Biscuit

I am also on Mindflayer in a RP guild. Look me up on @boerewors (you just need a handle to add to friends list). My cleric is currently level 25, I am taking it slow ;-)

@shibobo
Thanks very much for the add. Was very nice chatting with you.

@Shrike
LOL! Thank you. I assume this is the same 'Wors I've played with in The Secret World and Guild Wars 2, right?

There's server maintenance occurring for the next two hours. There was also quite a bit of maintenance yesterday as well. So, if you were trying to download then or now, that might have something to do with it.

Indeed l;-)

Played some last night with Cronus on the Dragon server. I played the Guardian Fighter till level 8. I must say the game does grow on you and I'm looking forward to playing some more, it's actually quite enjoyable.

Tried it, but it seems like a watered down* NWN coming from PnP DnD... So now I'm going to try DDO and see how that was in comparison with this :(

*Talking about skills, spells and class builds. It seems that this is the new simplified Sheppard and that there is no more games for me where I would have liked to mull over my build, my spells and my skills. All replaced with quick button and even more stupefied as wow were. Gah.

What class to play? That is the question. The rogue looks nice, but I'm not overly fond of the squishy classes. Guardian looked alright, but the problem with playing a tank or a healer is if shit goes down in a dungeon, people always blame one of the two. The finger never points to the DPS. :p

Playing as a Wood Elven - Control Wizard.

It's fun so far. Very fun as a matter of fact.

Game runs a bit choppy for me, but it's nothing game-changing.

I think I'm going to stick to my halfling rogue. As much fun as the halfling Guardian is, the playstyle is a bit too slow for me. Besides, the rogue actually plays easier than the guardian and seems to be able to take a lot more hits. :wtf:

Are you mad? :P

I play Guardian and am doing all the tanking while Cronus who plays Rogue does the DPS. Block is extremely effective.

Yeah, obviously if you block you can take hits like nobody's business, but if you just stand there soaking up hits without doing anything the rogue outlasts the guardian. Just odd, considering the rogue wears leather armor and the guardian wears plate.

I can't say this has been my experience tbh.

Hit level 16 yesterday with Frudi, Cronus and Vampothic. I must say I'm really beginning to enjoy the game a lot the more we get into it. We 4 manned the level 17 Cloak Tower dungeon yesterday and it was quite easy, here's hoping the difficulty scales well as we level.
