Mattt, the ash is alive.
The ash is indeed alive. I arrived home and it was gone. I doubt my maid would have cleaned it.

Pyura chilensis. Though entirely immobile, this "rock" is a living sea creature full of blood and guts. It’s amazing how something can go through thousands of years of evolution and wind up an immobile rock with guts living off the coast of Chile and Peru.
These rocks spend their days sucking water through the earth and filtering out microorganisms – that’s when they’re not being eaten by the locals (who describe the taste as “bitter†and “soapyâ€) or presented as freak shows online. Another fun fact about these meat-rocks – they reproduce by “selfingâ€, which is as wonderful a euphemism as we’ve ever heard for being able to have hermaphroditic self-relations. As is the case with humans, it’s born male, but becomes hermaphroditic, and reproduces by excreting clouds of both sperm and eggs into the surrounding water. Unlike humans, the offspring start out as tiny tadpole-like creatures that eventually settle into stationary existence on the sea floor.

Yes alright I'll send you the sweater occupant. Please be aware that this specimen was used for diagnostic purposes and the modelling of exquisite clothing only and should not be used in ways that men are normally used. We also made an error in attaching this organism's sexual organ, aka "penis". Please find its location under the left armpit. It is full of moles and can be enjoyed with a dollop of eastern European spicy sauce.
