SORCERER is brilliant class. Ranged attacks make a huge difference

[Possible Spoilers]

The hollow knights with the Greatswords in Forest of Giants sometimes drop them. There is also one on a corpse, but you need the key from the Last Giant to access that area.

I want to try sorcerer but the hand to hand combat is so amazing that it will be really hard to give up.This game is amazing GOTY calling it early.

I started as Sorcerer and yet am running around with awesome Flame Sword! Loving this game and my choice of GOTY for sure.

Question for you guys tho :

In Forest of Giants, from 3rd bonfire, if you head out and them walk across and left, you can see a barred gate. There is treasure just beyond, but I can't open gate. What am I missing? :-(

Definitely a contender for GOTY.
I gave sorcerer a try, need to get used to nit having a shield there and to dodge/roll more often, though I like the quickness of strikes. One thing I don't get is, how do you know where you aiming for your spells if you aren't locked onto a target?
It's not like a bow when has an aim function, and if you too far to lock on you can't pick them off.

I usually use my characters head I know that sounds weird but that is how I aim when I can not lock on.

i line up my right hand and let rip with a soul arrow. then adjust if needs be. I have managed to ping many enemies from afar i this manner. rang of soul arrow is excellent. and i have a shield in one hand, and staff/sword in other.

I killed the Persuer lost night :) so that's Heides and Forest of Giants clears. Bring on the wharf!
 
No one has mentioned The Last Giant, am I the only one to have killed him?
Surely not, though I don't tthink he was compulsory.

Having a hard time with the Persuer. I get nailed so quickly I don't even get a chance to get him to 50% so I dunno what approach to take.

I had him down ages ago, I'm actually pretty far into the game now and the current boss has me stumped... :(

I must confess, I needed help with Persuer. I summoned some guys to help. I'm Sorcerer so I needed a melee character to distract him while I spammed soul arrows

Ok, now I'm confused. Do I do the summoning or look for a summon sign to touch?

All this time, I have only seen one and it disappeared before I could do anything.

As far as I recall I need to look for a white summon sign that someone else has put down, but I haven't seen any, at all!

Yeah, just look around for white summonigs signs, usually a lot ouside a boss fog gate.

Just make sure you are in human form. Just remember if you summon someone at a bonfire they can only help you until you get to the boss fog gate, but then you can summon someone else for the boss.
