Official Wasteland 2 thread

Ps Don't focus too heavy on weapons skill at the start since your going to need your other skills sooner than you realize.

Nice! On level 10 your party members will each gain one attribute point which you can spend however you like. PS: Some armour has a strength requirement.

Awesome setup just a shame you went with so much assault rifle since your going to have a bit of a problem with ammo come later. Also having 2 weaponsmiths is a waste of points on one of them.

I noticed,i also see most of the armor that requires strength also reduces speed.I'm thinking of upgrading to the tactical vest when i have enough scrap.Took apart quite a few guns and the merchant in the citadel seems to pay allot for broken weapon parts.

Either going to put points into Coord for more AP and hit chance or awareness so they show up more often in the que at the top.

I've heard that you lose Angela Deth later on,i don't want to be limited from some places when she is gone so i am giving my other guys some of the necessary skills (weapon smithing proving to be very useful). Also all of them have an INT of 8 so i am getting 4 skill point per lvl up.Found a skill book in ranger citadel for toaster repair (at the museum),not sure if i should save it to max toaster repair at lvl9 or use it now...

What bonus do sniper rifles have other then range?,they seem to do less damage then assault rifles (or does it change later in the game?)

Would say save it. I used it early on since that was not my main focus on that character.

As for snipers vs Assault riffles I don't know. Sometimes the Sniper does a lot of damage and sometimes not so depending on the enemy you fight you.

Also wtf is up with energy weapons there damage is all over the place. Shoot something with 9 armor and does about 120 damage shoot something with 7 armor does 14 damage. They should scale a bit better vs armor.

Before I scrap a weapon I look at what it will likely give me and if I already have too many of those components. If it has a decent chance of giving something to me that I don't have I will definitely scrap it. But if it doesn't and I scrap it and it only gives say 4 broken weapon parts, then I will rather sell it for the $120 odd scrap.

Damn it, looks like I'm the only person who didn't know about the skill books :P

Yes you do lose Angela later on. I am not sure if you get her back though. Assault rifles and sniper rifles both have a minimum range, so they are quite similar to me. But I normally do more damage with my snipers than the assault classes.

The energy weapons scale their damage depending on the armour of the enemy and every weapon has it's own sliding scale. If you look at the weapon it will say something like armour class 6, which means that that level of armour is your zero point. If the guy has more armour it will do more damage (see the multiplier in the description below) or less damage (also a multiplier in the description).

Got to LA a while back. One of my guys had to be held hostage for something (wasn't paying attention) and then i was supposed to get him back but i didn't and i also can't dismiss him so i was capped at 2 followers. He was standing at the cage but he didn't respond.I fixed it by standing next to him and then saving, backed up the save and then edited it;looked for his name and then changed "IsPrisoner=True" to "IsPrisoner=False".I didn't have his gear so i went snooping around and found it in a safe that wasn't too hard to crack.

Will post my current team stats in a bit, anyone else feel like posting theirs;for research purposes? :D

A new patch has been released (2.4GB on Steam).

Highlights

- Large amount of memory optimizations, particularly with audio, to improve performance and stability on lower-spec systems and 32-bit operating systems.
- Fixed enemy “unlimited AP” movement bug that allowed them to sometimes move much farther than intended.
- Extensive improvements and fixes to California questlines, particularly in Hollywood and Griffith Park. May require you to load an older save file before Hollywood to fully benefit.
- Added a travel speed toggle to the world map, allowing you to zip and zoom around if you so please (doesn’t affect encounters, only travel speed).
- Added a new UI when CNPCs are recruited. This lets you more easily compare their stats and choose to dismiss one when a new one offers to join.
- Custom portraits will now work correctly when Windows account username contains non-English characters.
- Added support for “Very Large” text.
- Added 50 messages to load screens containing gameplay hints and tips.
- Loading now continues when the game is tabbed out, and pauses after finishing.
- Further UI fixes and improvements, such as new and correctly used icons.
- Many localization updates and bug fixes across all languages.

Hmm might have to wait a bit more for more updates to be released. That is a very long list of fixes.

But what if they fixed everything with this one patch? :D Can't say I've really been affected by anything. Sure I've been unable to complete a few things but that's mostly on me for messing up the quest chains :P

Finished the game last night. Must say, it was very enjoyable. Not as good as Fallout2 was (for me personally), but it was what I have been looking for for a long time.

It has its faults obviously and some things that annoyed me, but overall it was a good game. At the end my team was quite powerful, so didn't really have a hard time killing everything :D

Glad you liked it. Any plans on another playthrough?
