Ahem, and I quote:

"By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

Profanity does not equal "obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

NO, In the case of MyG those are pictures of naked people and excrement.

No, that is what you consider vulgar - a common person would understand that vulgar language includes swearing.

This is the problem with this whole debate - people fail to understand that just because they have no problem with it, doesn't make it ok with everyone else.

I think this topic is overly debated now.

Face it guyz we are a democracy and as those votes show 61% of the people on this forum feel that swearing within context is perfectly acceptable as long as no excessive or abusive swearing is to be tolerated.

Please Note that the following is my own opinion. It is not the opinion of MyGaming or any of its Moderators. This is me posting as a forum user, not a mod.

I think for 12.6% of people here who find swearing so very offensive that it was deemed necessary to implement this swearing filter, to expect the rest of the community, who have now voiced their opinion, to entertain the feelings of a minority is not only unfair it is stupid and childish. This thread and poll was created to hear what the forum has to say on the subject, not just those who report the "bad" posts and not just those who live on this site, but of the community as a whole. 90 people, only 90, have deemed this subject important enough to vote, the remaining 400 active members that frequent this site either don't care or feel its pointless to give their say in a subject that nobody has noticed until very recently. My, and what would appear to be the rest of the "active" community's, opinion is that the Swearing filter should be turned off. If any EXCESSIVE or ABUSIVE swearing does occur one of the mods should be contacted, either Rusty or Myself and even Tinman, but the man has a website to run and does not have time to run after ever **** and **** that pops up. We have 3 mods, 2 of which have been doing this for a while and 1 who is still junior (that would be me) so lets use them. I am sure Tinman is so fed up for this discussion he just wants to get it sorted. So lets sort it out and get back on track.

Sjoe! Lots posted on the subject. I don't care either way but have voted for the filter to stay - it brings out the creativity in you :D

lol I forget that most people don't actually know what they're talking about when they use big words like 'democracy'.

Are we talking proportional or first-past-the-post?

So...

Eendrag maak mag?

lol just kidding.

Not even going to try to go into transparency and accountability measures, lol

so now people can understand why I said

Good luck with that 'might makes right'.

I'm gonna start a hawaiian shirt day vote, and there's nothing you can do about it, muahahahaha!
