I've been there a few times, close to my place. Never played there, though. I know they play some MTG, Pokemon an Yu Gi Oh there.

Cards games are pretty expensive once you get into them...

Well not really talking about magic, that game is just too huge to get into. Hatfield is about 30+-min away from me but then again everything is far away from where I am currently.

I started playing MTG a few months ago. Not too difficult, but really expensive. Ike might know a thing or two about this, I know he was heavily into card games.

Sorry for the belated reply, but I thought I should just reinvigorate this thread.

Android: Netrunner is becoming quite popular locally and you can get into it for about R600. You don't need anything more than the base set (although if you want to, there are many expansions). Netrunner is available at most hobby stores in PTA including outer limits, Games4U in Atterbury Value Mart and probably elsewhere.

Hey. I'm looking for a card game that can be played without needing a lot of space. 2 players should be able to play it.
I was looking at the catan card game. Has anyone here played it before? Worth it?

I have played it. It's very Settler's-of-Catan-y as one would expect. The mechanics feel similar to the board game, but you need space to play it, I reckon a 1m by 1m area at a minimum. I can't think of a card game off-hand that would take very little room other than Uno?

There are two different versions, the one is rivals for catan which need a 1x1m space and the other one is struggle for Catan which needs a bit less space.

You can also look at Coup.

Ah. Right. I have only played Rivals, not Struggle.

I know nothing about Coup other than that it's the sound that pigeons make.

Has anyone played tabletop simulator? Would it be worth getting to play with some friends? We've been playing Settlers lately, but buying a whole collection of phyiscal games seems like it could get pricey.
