It was a long time coming but Apple has officially announced it will be doing away with the earphone jack on its iDevices.
That means all of your expensive headphones/earphones that have a 3.5mm adapter are now unusable with iPhone 7.
It also means that you can’t listen to music and charge your phone at the same time (even if you have the correct adapter) as they both use the Lightning port.
Fortunately, Belkin plan to release a special dongle that lets you attach a pair of Lightning connector headphones and a charging cable at the same time, reports Gizmodo.
“Available starting October 10 for $40 (R570), the adapter also works with Apple’s Lightning to 3.5-millimeter headphone adapter if you haven’t upgraded your headphones yet.”
