Official Wasteland 2 thread

Can anyone that played the first one tell me what is the use of taking anything but intelligent attribute?

Got a character with 8 strength but only 3 in brute strength can't bust down a door.
Got another one with 2 Strength and 5 brute strength can bust down the door.

Strength affects various things (not just brute force), and there are various ways to open a door, now just brute force.

From the Wasteland 2 Ranger Field Manual:
Strength is the pure brute power of a Ranger. This does not mean the Ranger is knowledgeable or skilled in applying that brute force, or particularly smart about when to apply it, just that the Ranger has a lot of force to apply. Strength is a natural skill for combat-focused bruisers. Strength influences: Max Carry Weight, Action Points, Melee Critical Hit Damage, Base CON, and bonus CON per level-up.

You could theoretically try to play using only INT characters, but you will find that they are very squishy and are unable to carry much weight. You might also be surprised to see that certain skills do worse than you remember them doing in the past. Because those skills actually rely on certain attributes to an extent.

1.5Gb patch...really?

I was confused as I haven't seen this patch. Closed Steam, opened Steam again, and there it is :P

Also, I feel like such an idiot. Did a whole bunch of quests, got to the Prison, had a hard time killing the buggers, but managed. Decided to go back to Ranger Citadel to sell some things, as all my guys were basically encumbered.
Got there and I was able to enter the Citadel (duh!) and holy balls, I was able to purchase such shiny new weapons for my guys and better armor.

Somehow I forgot to go to the Citadel after doing Ag Center. Oh well, time to kill baddies with a lot less difficulty :)

The wonders of an open world game :D

Indeed :)

Wondering if I should go back to the Prison now and try to get past the turrets, or if I should go to the Radio Tower first (or Rail Nomad Camp) :3. So many options, so little time :D

Or or you can skip them and find some other places :p

I went to the Rail Nomads before the Prison, but then stopped halfway and decided to go to the Prison first. On my way to the prison I found an abandoned railway station or something with vicious robots. I still have to go to the cave as well which should be west of AG center. Then Damonta and Darwin.

Anyone able to finish the quest Rail thieves in the nomads camps?

If you're referring to the quest "Get rid of the rail thieves for Kekkahbah", then yes.

Spoiler: show
There are 3 groups of rail thieves you have to kill, then go talk to Kekkahbah again.

On another note, just fought my first group of SlicerDicers. Holy balls. 3 of them with 540hp each, it was not nice. First fight my whole group got wiped. Had to get a new tactic for the 2nd fight which went well, but they didn't give me any loot :/

Not looking forward to fighting more of them to be honest.

A ran into them on my first run and decided when I restarted to take something that is good vs armor so took energy weapons will go battle them soon.

I have an energy weapons guy luckily, and I also stock up all the rocket launchers I get. So hopefully when the going gets tough I'll not fare too badly :3

Did you manage to finish the rail thieves quest?
