The MyGaming board games thread

Stoked to start having regular Settlers nights now that our housemate is moving out and we'll have a spare room to use as a dining room. One needs a proper table for these things ;)

Hey fellow board-gamers

I am really really struggling to find a copy of Eldritch Horror in stock anywhere. If any of you know where I can buy it (preferably in Gauteng), I'd highly appreciate it. Note, it should be in stock at the place that you recommend, I have tried that following places and it is not physically in stock and/or is difficult to get hold of for them:

Outer Limits PTA
TImeless Board Games
Games 4 all Atterbury
Digital Sushi
Loot.co.za
Takealot.co.za

So ja, there aren't many possible places left. If any of you know where I can get it, please tell me. Pretty please!

PSA for the Gauteng crowd:

There is a monthly board games event hosted by Timeless Board Games. It is usually held in Bedfordview and seems to be quite successful. I've never been so I can't verify this. The event has a R60 entrance fee, but this includes tea/coffee/snacks, an entry into a draw for games and vouchers as well as all the board games you could possibly imagine to play. Here's an excerpt from their site:

Board Game Party 05 September 2015

Join us as we indulge in over 100 board games - all provided by Timeless Board Games. (List below) New games are opened every month.

Stick to your own gaming group or play with other gamers. New-comers and experienced board gamers welcome. A few guys will be walking around teaching games.

Also try to get the expansions

Just a note for anyone that saw my announcement of the board games day, the date was actually supposed to be Saturday the 5th of September, not the 6th. If you plan on going, please note the change.

I played a game of Tales of the Arabian nights on Saturday. It's a fantastic game. If you have ever read and enjoyed a choose-your-own-adventure style book, then you should definitely give TotAN a try. It beautifully creates a unique story for each of the players every game and is just so much damn fun. There is plenty of reading-aloud of your opponents fate, which generates exquisite moments of suspense as well as hilarious revelations. I would also highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys tabletop RPGs.
